Story
Meet Carlile, a delightful mountain cur mix with a heart full of playfulness and sweetness! This charming canine companion is on the lookout for a loving home where he can share his zest for life with an equally adventurous family. Carlile is a very good leash walker and would love to go on hikes/runs with his new family. We believe Carlile would do well in a home with another dog given proper introductions. We don't know how he would do in a home with cats as we don't know if he has lived with them in the past. Carlile should do well in a home with children who would be able to play and run around with him. He is looking for a family that will play tug of war with him and then plop down on the couch for a movie after. If this sounds like something you can do, apply now! Carlile is a 4-year-old Mountain Cur mix, recently weighing 73 pounds. Carlile is heartworm positive, therefore he is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate so he can continue heartworm treatment in a home. ***If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
This GORGEOUS girly is Stella! She is a beautiful, happy, brindle babe who is estimated right around 5 years old. Stella’s road to rescue was a rough one, but she’s proven herself a warrior…and we’d love nothing more for her to land the forever family she’s always dreamt about! Stella (female) is a Plott Hound who was found out on her own [in the countryside] near a small town in Minnesota. She was quite literally skin & bones (we will post her “at rescue” photo in the comments ), was covered in ticks, and in pretty tough shape. She was found wearing a collar, with no identifying tags…and sadly, no one stepped forward to claim this girl. Her finder unfortunately couldn’t keep her and her stray hold was up, so one of our wonderful foster families stepped forward and welcomed this girl into their home (where she became part of the New Leash fam!).  Per Stella’s vet papers, she weighs-in right @ 47lbs — so is the most perfect medium-sized girl! She has the most adorable big, floppy ears…and the happiest smile! She is SUCH a friendly girl with a zest for life. One of her all-time favorite pastimes is spending time outside! Stella loves the outdoors, and any activities outdoors: walks, hikes, meetings new friends, you name it! She also makes a fabulous running partner. Her foster mom is currently working on getting back into the running groove (& says it’s currently more like a couch to 5K situation ), but says that Stella is the ultimate jogging companion. ‍ In addition, she loves going for car rides (any adventure is fun, really!) and meeting new friends — whether human or doggo. Her foster family says it’s been so much fun to see Stella come out of her shell and into her own. She is learning all about the good, spoiled life…and embracing every moment! She gets along great with other dogs, and loves to run + play with her 4-legged friends outside. She hasn’t shown any hesitation with meeting new people and/or dogs, however of note: she does get excited and will use her hound voice when other dogs pass by the house. Therefore apartment living would *not* be ideal for this girl! Although she’d love another pup-playmate in the home, she’d also do just fine as your one & only. When inside, Stella loves to lounge. Curling up on the couch, a comfy chair and/or a cozy dog bed is her favorite. She is not a fan of her kennel; she will tolerate being crated, but will be vocal. However, she is a wonderful candidate for having free roam of the house while her people are gone! Her foster family leaves her uncrated without any issue. She tends to find her favorite chair or will grab a spot on the couch to settle in for a nice snooze! Stella is completely housebroken (win!), does fabulous with young kids, and has proven to be very smart (learning commands, being attentive to her people, etc.). She is such a friendly girl and is a sweetheart through & through. Her tail is always wagging! She would love a forever home where she can lounge in comfort, spend plenty of time adventuring outside (her happy place ), and have the opportunity to just love on her people. She is SO deserving of the best forever love! If she sounds like the perfect fit for you, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Stella!  APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Stella’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##2145610##
