Size

Story
Layla is smart, curious, affectionate, obedient, playful, and a huge cuddle bug. Layla is also extremely anxious, protective, and wary of strangers (especially women). She requires a patient owner that is willing to work to her strengths and minimize her flaws. She is extremely food motivated and, combined with her intelligence, training is a breeze. I am rehoming her primarily because I am moving, and my new situation is incompatible with her personality. Her ideal situation is a home with a medium backyard to run around or play fetch in and preferably a male primary caretaker who has experience with reactive dogs or is willing to learn. .................... I want to make two things very clear: 1) In the right situation, I don't think her behavior will be much of a challenge. She's smart, eager to please, and very food motivated. 2) She has serious anxiety. Her medication helps this but does not eliminate it. She's not a dog you can bring to the brewery or let off leash at the park.

Story
We rescued our beloved Penny (whippet/hound mix) 6 years ago when she was ~1 year old. Her early history is unknown, but she has become a wonderful companion. Personality: Shy around tall men with hats but warms up quickly. Extremely affectionate/goofy; LOVES to cuddle. Energy: Medium. When she's not relaxing, she loves to play, go on walks and chase laser lights. Training: Good on leash (needs reminders around other dogs); Crate-trained; Knows many commands (occasionally pretends she doesn't hear!); Will learn more tricks for treats!; Great car companion; Excellent watchdog. Health: Spayed, up to date monthly flea/tick/heartworm medications; She has skin allergies but has responded well to immunotherapy. Immunotherapy shots are about $400 every 6 months, but may go down in cost. Penny's ideal home is an active one with no small children or other pets; a home that loves hiking/long walks and snuggling; a home where Penny is the center of attention and gets lots of love/cuddles.

Story
Gizmo is a truly special dog full of love and a soul that shines through in every gaze. Our daughter inherited Gizmo when a military member was deployed and she’s cared for him for the past months. Unfortunately, she’s now moving and can’t take Gizmo with her, so we’re hoping to find someone who can offer him the warmth and care he deserves. Gizmo is an older dog, though we’re not exactly sure of his age. He’s low-key, easy to please, and incredibly sweet. What makes Gizmo unique is his deep, soulful nature. He’s great at communicating when he needs to go outside, making him a considerate, easy companion. While Gizmo can struggle with new dogs, we believe he would thrive in a home with someone who’s dedicated to guiding him. He has so much love to give and just needs the right person to help him feel secure and happy. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will be by your side, Gizmo could be the perfect match. He deserves to find his person!

Story
I rescued my 6-month-old puppy when she was 2 months old. Sadly my situation has changed to where I can no longer keep her and have no one to take care of her. I want her to have the opportunity to go to a place where she will be loved and cared for as much as I love her. She is curious and very playful. She likes squeaky balls and prefers plush blankets to a bed. She's very loving and loves to take walks. She can be around cats and is very docile around them. She is timid when meeting other people but is very affectionate and loyal. She doesn't like showers and is very timid around little kids but given more exposure she is very playful. She prefers squeaky plush toys that are fox-shaped.

Story
Meet Lady: a beautiful two-year-old soul with a resilient spirit. Lady wound up at her town's local animal shelter not once, not twice, but three times throughout her short little life. With each shelter stay, Lady's fate hung in the balance, her future uncertain. But five minutes before the world went dark for her, fate intervened! Lady's story is one of perseverance, a testament to the indomitable spirit that resides in rescue dogs. With each return to the shelter, Lady clung to the hope that one day, her forever family would come for her. But time stretched on, and as she watched her kennel companions find their homes, Lady's hope began to waver. She wondered if her family would ever come; if the love she longed to give would forever remain unclaimed. From Lady's perspective, the days blurred together, a montage of waiting and wondering. She yearned for the gentle touch of a hand, the warmth of a loving gaze, and the sound of a family's laughter. No matter how much doubt crept into her heart, she clung to the belief that somewhere out there, her family existed. She held onto that glimmer of hope, the flicker of a dream that refused to be extinguished. And then, in June of 2022, Lady's life took a turn for the better. "The Pitty Committee" whisked her away from the shelter, ensuring that she would never face the threat of euthanasia again. From that moment on, Lady found herself in the serene atmosphere of South Lake Tahoe, where she has flourished under the loving care of her wonderful Foster Mama, Hailey! But, although Lady is safe from a dreaded shelter environment, her journey remains incomplete. She still waits for her forever family to find her.

Lady is more than just a dog; she's a lake-loving adventurer, a spirited soul who thrives on the joys of nature. She yearns for an active family, who will embrace her love for swimming, running, and frolicking in the sun and snow. Lady's heart knows no bounds when it comes to people of all ages. She adores children, and her boundless energy makes her the perfect playmate. She's a fetch aficionado, and her dock-jumping skills are nothing short of astounding. But what sets Lady apart is her unwavering loyalty, her eagerness to please, and her ability to melt your heart with a single glance. This beautiful girl has come a long way since leaving the shelter. She's crate trained, muzzle trained, and she listens to commands with a heart full of eagerness to please. She's not just a dog; she's a testament to the power of love and resilience. A promise of boundless joy to the family that opens their heart to her. Don't let Lady's story remain incomplete. She's been waiting and hoping for quite some time; she deserves a forever family to call her own. We ask that you consider Lady as the missing piece in your life, the companion who will make every moment brighter, and the love that will fill your heart. Complete your life with a furry friend who knows the true meaning of hope, love, and the promise of a forever home. Lady is waiting, and her love is worth the journey. Don't let her wait any longer; make her a part of your family, and create a story of love and happiness that will last a lifetime. Adopt Lady, and change both your lives forever! ♥

Story
Jack is a very sweet, affectionate boy. He loves to hang out and cuddle. He's equally happy lounging around with you or running around the dog park. He's very smart and a very good listener. He just wants to please. He's crate trained as well. He's good with cats, is very gentle with kids, and is good with other dogs (as long as there's not a fence between them). He'd be fine in any household, but he would thrive being the only pet and getting all the attention and love from his family.

Story
We got Benji about a year ago for our kids. Turned out to be a terrible idea. We dont have the time to train and its way too much excitement in our house. He has bitten the kids a couple times( not bad) when there was alot of yelling going on. Would be a perfect pet for someone looking to train a dog. (He will sit on command now). I dont want to have him put to sleep but also i cant keep him. Were sad to let him go but we have to do it. If hes not gone within a week then will have him put down.

Found this dog almost dead on the streets of Mexico, took her in and nursed her back to life, she's been with us about 4-5 years and she is the sweetest animal you'll ever meet. She absolutely LOVES attention, walks, treats any type of attention she'll take ALL DAY. If you need a buddy she's for you. This dog is the definition of chill.

Story
Brandy is a sweet and cuddly spayed female mutt that we adopted 6.5 years ago. She is 8 years old now, and a small/medium size at 20 pounds. We have loved her and she has loved us but our home is no longer a suitable place for her now that we have a small child who makes her nervous. She is a low maintenance dog who is healthy, house trained, loves pets and walks, and sleeps most of the day, but she does have anxiety and barks nervously around new people and new dogs (but has done well in boarding/doggy daycare situations). She cannot live with small children or cats. We are heartbroken that after a year, Brandy still has not taken to our baby. We are looking to find her a home where she will be loved, safe, comfortable, and happy.

Story
Betty is an amazing, loyal, loving dog who loves walks, kids, bones, hanging with her owners, and being the center of attention. When you walk into the room her tail starts wagging like a whip. That might be the only way she'll hurt you as she is the most gentle, carefree and loving dog we have experienced. She lives with my wife and I in Fallbrook with 2 older dogs and 2 young girls (3 and 7) who are her best friends. She loves to be outside, we have a 1/3 acre yard that she loves. We adopted her through ARE rescue outside of Petsmart in Oceanside on 2/11/23 and she was love at 1st sight. I never would have ever thought of rehoming her... ever. But due to family emergency and unforseen circumstances we are forced to do this.. She deserves a good home and owner as she is one of the most loving and deserving dogs you will find. Please contact me for more information and I will get back to you. I need to make sure she goes to a good home. Thanks
