Story
Blaze needs more time than I can give her. She needs someone who is home more often than not, and someone familiar with training. I have had a hard time having her in the house, because she pees when she is nervous/excited. She LOVES kids. She’s more wary around adults, but gets used to them quickly. She absolutely cannot be around small animals - she will take off after squirrels and chipmunks, and will chase cats. She killed multiple chickens, but she is protective of the goats she lives next to, and gets along with other dogs, so she’s fine with larger animals. She loves car rides, and even though she’s a little nervous in public, does really well walking through the pet store.

Story
Harlie is a 3.5 year old dog we adopted from Mexico in San Diego, CA, in 2021. She’s very loving, playful, and full of energy. She loves being outside, chasing squirrels, running, and playing fetch at the dog park. She’s great with us and our cat (though she’s selective with other cats) and plays well with dogs outside her home. Unfortunately Harlie is reactive, particularly on leash and around strangers in our home. She barks and lunges at kids during walks, which worries us as a young couple considering children. While she’s never made us feel unsafe and has never caused anyone harm, she has anxiety that we believe may stem from her past and contributes to her reactivity and anxious behaviors. We’re seeking a loving home for her that will provide her with the exercise, attention, and structure she needs. Ideally, this would be a family without young children or frequent visitors. We’ll keep her until we find the right fit as this is a very hard decision, and we want the best for her.
