Story
Welcome Jinx to CCPAL Rescue. Jinx is a 2 year old Great Dan mix. He is tall and lanky like the great Dane and has the shy quality. He is a good weight and he is good with other dogs. He has lived with a large female and male in his home. He does know sit and is good on leash. We assume he is potty trained as he had an older man owner. His owner is in hospice care and is not doing well. A good Samaritan stepped up and helped them. She asked CCPAL to take them in and help them find a new forever home. He settles down nice and likes to lean in to his person. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. We would love someone familiar with the Dane personality or someone who has had a large breed dog before. He would be a great man dog. He takes direction well and bonds deeply very quickly. He naturally likes men as he lived his life with one. He would be content being the only dog or being with another dog. He is not the dominant one of the 3 pack. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Well, hello there! I’m Falkor, a regal, 100-pound Great Dane, and I’m here to tell you all that I’m a certified cuddle expert! It’s true, snuggling is my absolute favorite thing in the world and if you let me, I’ll happily bury my head in your arms and just soak up the love. I mean sure, I’m a big guy but I have a soft heart that is brimming with love and affection! One of my favorite pastimes is relaxing in my favorite armchair and watching the goings on outside. I’m still figuring out what toys are all about, but blankets, towels, and floppy toys are my jam! I also love going on leashed walks, but I’ll forewarn you - I’m a puller LOL, so, I need a confident human on the other end of the leash to show me how it’s done. Additionally, I love to stretch my legs with a nice, good run around the yard so I would love a fenced in yard or area to do that in.  By the way, I also LOVE pajamas…in fact, if I had it MY way, I’d have a whole closet full of cozy jammies that I could show off! Did I mention that I have great manners? I’m fully potty & crate trained, and I know commands like “come”, “go potty”, and “outside” so you can see I’m quite brilliant! I don’t bark much unless something catches me off guard; and cats beware because I have a high prey drive! I am good with kids however, due to my size, I do better with kids that are large dog savvy. As for other dogs, I prefer larger ones because the small ones tend to make me a bit nervous. Additionally, although I get used to other dogs in the home after some time, I can get a bit growly if I feel another dog is invading my space so I will need a confident forever parent who has experience with large, senior breeds. Truth be told, I like to throw my weight around if I’m looking for pets. Hee, hee!! Anyway, if you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who’s all about cuddles and calm vibes, I’m your guy. Let’s meet—I can’t wait to find a patient, furever family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me! Love & cuddles Falkor *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Meet Bartholomew (or Barry, for short), the 30-pound bundle of cuddles and love! This sweet puppy (around 6 months to a year old) is an American Bulldog mix who’s always up for snuggles. Barry loves to burrow under blankets, cuddle up beside you, and give endless kisses—especially to kids. He’s your classic “shadow” dog, always following you around and making sure he’s right there beside you. If you’re cold, don’t worry—Barry’s got your back, literally. He doesn’t love the cold and gets chilly easily, so he’s more than happy to wear his cozy jacket or sweater without complaint! Barry enjoys playing fetch, chewing on bones, and getting lots of love. He’s almost potty trained when kept on a good schedule, and he’s crate trained (though sometimes he prefers a little extra cuddle time outside the crate). He’s a fan of the great outdoors, so a fenced yard is a must for him to run and play in. He’s good on a leash, although he doesn't go on walks every day. He’s great with other dogs of all sizes and is definitely a fan of having doggy friends around. While he’d be perfectly fine as a solo dog in the right home, he’s definitely a social little guy. He does bark when other dogs bark or when our son’s noisy toys make an appearance, but that’s just part of his fun-loving personality. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but based on his easygoing nature, he’d probably do just fine! Barry is looking for a home where he can continue to be the cuddle bug he is, with a yard to play in and a family that loves him as much as he loves them. If you’re looking for a loving, playful puppy to keep you company, Barry is the perfect match! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! P lease note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.
