Story
Adoption donation $525 weight  79 lbs  Age: 2 years  as of 3/23/2025            Logan is a friendly and sweet boy who is the quintessential family dog, he adores children and just loves to be with his people. if you sit down, you will likely find his big head nestled on your lap. He loves toys and bones and is a very easy-going boy. Logan is 100% House trained.        Logan definitely needs a yard, this boy loves to be outside! He doesn’t go far, if you call him, he will come right over to you. he is leash trained and if you have a big enough crate, he will go in there for naps.      Logan’s father is a purebred Great Pyrenees and mom is a 35 lb mixed breed. His original owners in Mississippi put two of his sisters in a cardboard box in front of their house with a sign that said “free puppies.” Wags rescued the puppies and found them loving homes. The owners refused to give up Logan and his sister Lila but kept them tied up outdoors. Wags was finally able to  convince them to relinquish the two and Logan and Lila went to the rescue, enjoying freedom for the first time. Lila has just been adopted, now it’s time for Logan to find a loving home of his own.         Logan gets  along well with most dogs although he’s definitely the alpha male and does not like to be challenged by another male. In his foster home in the northeast Logan lived with three females, including a puppy who jumped all over him, and he just wagged his tail. We’ve noticed that he does fine with small and medium dogs but tends to get more alpha with dogs his size. For that reason, we would prefer a home with dogs smaller than him or at least not with a alpha male.   His foster mom speaking: of the hundreds of dogs I’ve taken in I can honestly say Logan is in my top three. He is so easy and so loving. He just falls madly in love with his people and is just so sweet! However, Logan can be mixed with strangers. Generally, he ignores everyone, but if someone he doesn’t know comes over to pet him he can get startled and may give a warning snap. He’s very much a Great Pyrenees, he really loves his family, but can be a little wary of others. For that reason, the ideal home for Logan would be a family that either doesn’t have a lot of visitors or is willing to just ask them to leave him alone, Or just put Logan behind a gate. He’ll just lay down and watch the activity. He won’t try to jump over, I don’t even think he could! He’s just a super mellow boy who just wants to be with his people.   Logan is a total homebody, he really doesn’t want to go out and about, he really loves his home and has an independent streak, you could leave him out in the yard, and he will very happily roam the perimeter (probably in his Great Pyrenees mode of protecting sheep!) And then lay out in the sun.     Logan is currently on Long Island spending a few weeks with a Dog Trainer who absolutely adores him too! His Dog Trainer would be happy to go over what Logan’s been learning, we’d love a home with someone is willing to keep up the training.    Logan has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a healthy boy who is ready to make a lucky family a VERY loving companion. All Wags adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip  and transport to the northeast.
