Story
We are offering the most regal and unusual Norwegian Elkhound female, named Svart (meaning dark in color) but we prefer to call her “Cleopatra”.  This gorgeous girl is the leader and Queen of them all.  Regal and fully confident, she is everything we know Cleopatra to have been back in her days of making history.  She is the epitome of a queen that is full of reigning power in her breeding pack.  This 5.5 year old girl is gorgeous and is 65 pounds.  Undeniably in charge , Cleopatra Svart insists on being the focus of your family’s life.  She can live in peace with other dogs but we don't think she would be good at dog parks with dogs rushing up to her face with no introduction. She is happy with all the humans she meets and she is part of a large pack of breeder dogs that her owner is asking Critter Cavalry Rescue to help place. She is downsizing and getting out of the breeding business.  Our Svart AKA Cleopatra, needs a place of her own inside a home with her dog bed throne to await her.  If you are interested in this regal queen, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com She is ready for YOU to walk her down the red carpet to her new home. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Gregarious Gail, as we call her, is just 21 months old and is a true beauty of a pure bred Norwegian Elkhound.  She possesses all the wonderful traits through and through. Gail is a special girl because as a puppy she had an infection that caused her to lose her tail and two toes on her back feet.  She is so cute with the shorter tail and it hasn't slowed her down a bit. In fact, Gail is a very active and athletic lady who can jump, run, spin and play.  Gail hasn't had much of a start in life and she deserves much more.   She is outgoing and very sweet and just a touch shy at first when she meets new people and new situations.  Critter Cavalry rescued her an overwhelmed Elkhound breeder and has promised this loving, loyal and friendly girl, to give her a family that will recognize her special bright spirit.  She gets along well with others and goodness just look at that beautiful face. She is going to make some person or family so very happy.  This rare breed is known for being extremely loyal, intelligent and sensitive.    If you are interested in owning a breed that is fast becoming rare in the U.S. then please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is ready for a fresh new start to her young life. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Liv is a stunning 4-year-old Norwegian Elkhound who is now ready for her forever home after spending her life in an outdoor kennel. While she’s always had plenty of food and shelter, her interactions with people have been limited mostly to being provided basic care.  Liv is a gentle soul who loves the company of other puppies and gets along wonderfully with her kennel mates.   Though Liv may seem shy when you first meet her, with time, patience, and a little encouragement, she’ll warm up and show her affectionate side. She is a sweet, loyal girl at heart, and once she feels comfortable, her personality truly shines through.   Liv will thrive in a home that’s willing to give her the time and space to adjust. She will also need a proper diet and exercise plan, as she has had access to food but not enough activity. With a little attention to her health, Liv will be able to fully embrace a more active and enriched life, filled with the love and care she deserves.   If you're looking for a sweet, calm companion and are ready to help her get healthy and adjust to her new life, Liv may be the perfect addition to your family!  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 11, 2025, 1:07 pm

Story
Skye is a really good boi, he is 8 months old. He’s friends with everyone. Never barked aggressively to anyone or any animal. Gets along and plays with any dog he meets. Loves getting pets from random people he encounters when walking. Unfortunately, we have to re-home Skye, we found out that my wife is pregnant a month after we got Skye, we tried to keep him but as time goes by it is getting difficult for me and my wife. We could not provide Skye with the right amount of exercise and attention as we do work as well. Skye uses potty tray with pee pad when he’s home alone. He will sleep for hours during the day when we’re at work. At night he will sleep when we turn off the lights. When morning comes and we’re still asleep, he does not wake us up, he will actually play silently until we wake up. He never chewed on any wire at home, he will grab slippers or shoes onky because he knows I will chase him and he thinks it’s play time. He loves grabbing my socks. He really is a good boi.
