Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle, loving and with a heart of gold. His friendly demeanor and love for playtime make him an ideal companion for anyone seeking a loyal furry friend.  Leonardo’s zest for life is contagious! He enjoys playing, chasing after tennis balls, and curling up on the couch for cuddle sessions.   Leonardo is a smart cookie! He has completed an extensive board and train session, where he has learned impulse control when greeting people, in addition to basic commands. He has visited Home Depot several times and met strangers very politely. Once Leo is adopted, his trainer is happy to meet with the family several times to help them with ongoing training techniques.   Leonardo has shown that he can live with other dogs, but is also happy to be the center of attention as the only dog.   Leonardo has interacted with kids aged 9 to 15 and aced the test! He’s been gentle and allowed them to pet him all over without any issues. He is big and toddlers are not advised because he can knock them over by accident.   Leonardo takes a small daily dose of fluoxetine to manage his anxiety. Loud noises, like fireworks, still spook him, but he finds comfort in being close to his human companions during those moments. Are you ready to welcome Leonardo into your heart and home? All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.        Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.     Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 1:07 am

TEDDY is available! 24-038 Teddy is a 4-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle.  Teddy began having seizures in January 2023, but due to some confusion on dosages and vet changes with his original family, he was having seizures periodically.  Once surrendered to AGR and put on a regular time schedule for his meds, his seizures were controlled. H e just (late July) had a neurology follow-up and has had NO seizures in the past month since his intake with AGR.
