Story
Here's what the humans have to say about me: Cami is a male Jack Russell Terrier mix, estimated to be around one year old, with a small build weighing 5 kg. Although he has a painful past of being rescued just before euthanasia at a shelter, Cami is a bright and affectionate dog with a loving personality. He adores people and is friendly with everyone without hesitation. He is gentle with smaller dogs and gets along well with larger ones, showing excellent social skills. Most importantly, Cami longs for love and needs an environment where someone is always by his side. Since he may become anxious when left alone for long periods, a household where at least one family member stays home would be ideal. With an energetic personality, Cami enjoys jumping and playing with toys, requiring opportunities to release his energy. A home with a yard or frequent visits to a dog park would be perfect for him. As he lacks experience living in a home, he may chew on household items, but with enough toys and proper playtime, he can develop positive habits. His overall health is good, though he has a dental misalignment. However, this does not affect his ability to chew and instead adds to his unique charm. Cami is waiting for a loving family to welcome him. Please help him start a new life in a warm and caring home!

Story
Introducing…Gypsy! Gypsy is a 3 y/o mix in need of a new home. Gypsy was previously adopted from CRT when she was younger, but has been surrendered back to CRT due to her owner’s health problems impacting her ability to care for Gypsy. Gypsy is absolutely adorable, and has the cutest little mohawk on her neck! Gypsy is most likely a rat terrier mix and has characteristics typical of this breed- friendly, loving, super smart, and high energy! She does great on a leash, can play ball for hours, loves other dogs, and tolerates cats. Gypsy’s foster mom stresses that Gypsy needs a home than can handle her high energy level; she would do well in a younger household. A home with a couple of kids and/or another playful dog her size would be a great match for Gypsy. She can be a rather loud alarm system when visitors arrive, but she does settle down quickly. Even though she’s playful, when it’s bedtime she’s always ready to snuggle into bed with her people. Gypsy’s foster mom says that Gypsy is absolutely the most pee pad trained dog she’s ever seen. That being said, she has no problem doing her business in the fenced yard. If your family is ready for a small dog who snuggles and plays, Gypsy would be the perfect addition! Gypsy is up to date on vaccinations and has been fully vetted. She is heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm prevention. She is spayed and microchipped. Gypsy’s adoption donation is $300. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. To submit an application go here……chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled. Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so southeast dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
