Story
I adopted miles at the beginning of November at the Denver Animal Shelter. They think he was about 2 years old when I adopted him. Miles is very spunky and full of love!! He absolutely loves people and cuddles. He is an active dog who loves to hike and go for runs! Miles is quite reactive on the leash so I like to cross the street when I see another dog outside. I think he would do best outside of a city with a yard to run around in! He had a tousle a couple weeks ago with my neighbors dog in our hallway although he has met a few of my friend’s dogs and has been friendly and playful! It just needs to be the right setting for him. He is not getting along with my cat so well either so I think he would do well in a home with no other animals for now. He has shown no signs of aggression towards people whatsoever. He is just friendly and cuddly in that department! He really is such sweet boy, he just needs to be in a home without a cat and with a yard.

Nacho is a 6 year old Patterdale Terrier. He’s a medium energy dog and loves walks. He has been around kids his whole life so he gets along well with them, especially when they play fetch or tug-o-war. He’s very cute and loves to cuddle once he’s comfortable with you. He’s not aggressive with other dogs but also not super friendly. He has never lived with another dog in the house full time. He’s never been around cats before. He’s a great theft deterrent! (barks when someone is at the door and can be a bit loud) He is very well house trained and does not chew things that don’t belong to him. He does best when there is a small number of people in the household.

Hi, my name is Charley Feeny and while I'm the happiest buddy now, before my Underdog days I had a pretty rough go of it. I used to have a loving mama, but one day she went away, and I found myself living with a person who did not like me very much. He was not feeding me or even letting me in from the cold. I wandered off and a nice lady found me. I showed her where I lived and she took me back, but the man said I was a stray and even though I barked and barked, he would not let me inside. The nice lady took me to a shelter. They said I was a hospice senior, and I that I was on the urgent rescue list. Fortunately, the staff really liked me, so they reached out to Underdogs, who sent a new mama to pick me up. My new foster home is so nice. There are other dogs to play with, I am allowed to curl up under the covers whenever I want to and there is lots of healthy food and treats to eat. She took me to the dog doc and she told her that I was neither neither a senior nor a hospice dog. I tried to tell everyone that, but apparently dog docs are more trustworthy. As it turns out, I am only about 6 years old and though not being fed regularly and neglected overall was hard on my kidneys, proper food and some medicine have been healing them nicely. I now weigh thirteen pounds and am looking perky and am the most handsome scruffy terrier and miniature poodle mix.  I love the fenced yard at my foster digs and I especially love going for walks in the morning. New foster mama put an open crate in the living room so I can go in there any time I need time to myself. I also like toys to play with. One weekend we had lots of company, including a 12-year-old girl and extra dogs. Mama said she was so proud of how I behaved.  She tells me that we are looking for my new forever family, someone that will take me for walks, feed me well, love me and help me feel secure again. She says that I will do best with adults and older children with dog experience. Jack is a 3-4 year old, 24lb Terrier Mix.  We are guessing he is a Jack Russel Terrier mix but we cannot be sure since we don't know his history. Jack was found wandering the streets with another dog in Kansas.  It was not the first time they had been picked up by animal control...or the second...or third.  Their owners clearly did not care enough to keep them safe at home, and eventually didn't even care enough to pick them up from the shelter.  Jack is super loveable and cuddly and will sit in your lap all day if you let him. He will follow you everywhere like a shadow. He’s also very timid and submissive and flops on his back when you approach him. Story
Tiffany is a 1 year old Terrier Mix weighing about 8lbs.  Tiffany was surrendered to one of our rescue partners when her Momma passed away and her and the other 4 dogs in the home were slated for the high kill shelter in the area.  We knew these sweet pups could find wonderful forever homes here in CO while also avoiding the terrifying experience of a shelter they may not make it out of.   Tiffany has been in CO for a couple weeks now and she is ready to find her forever family.  She is a sweet little girl.  She gets along great with other dogs and people.  She is a little nervous of the resident cat, but is learning he isn't that scary...it could be because she is smaller than him.  She is a little nervous at first around new people but within minutes she warms up and wants lots of love and snuggles.  She does well with the fosters kids too.  She is a great little dog and just needs a family who will love her unconditionally.  She is very snuggly and loving and will need someone who also wants a loving, snuggly companion.
