Story
Meet Lucas, a 1-year-old, 26-pound, medium-sized pup! He is possibly a Formosan Mountain dog or Patterdale Terrier with a dash of Chihuahua or another smaller breed. Lucas is a bundle of joy, intelligence, and affection.
About Lucas:
Lucas is highly intelligent and easy to train, quickly picking up new commands and tricks.
He is very affectionate and deeply loyal to his family. With his family, he turns into a joyful and playful goofball.
Lucas can be wary of strangers and noises, but he thrives on positive reinforcement and patience.
A calm and patient approach works best with him.
Lucas is a young dog that will require regular exercise. He’s a great companion for jogging, hiking, or any physical activity away from noisy streets.
Lucas is a pack dog and would thrive with a confident dog sibling his size or bigger. He also does well with a work-from-home active owner.
He can be good with older children who respect animals and understand boundaries.
Lucas is a good guard dog without being overly barky or aggressive.
Training and Socialization:
Lucas is house-trained but not crate trained.
He can be left uncrated when not home.
He knows how to sit and lay down on command in the home and is improving with sit commands on the street.
With regular exercise and patience, Lucas’s leash skills have improved, and he’s becoming less scared on the leash.
He is being socialized to get used to city noises and people, and he’s making great progress.
What Lucas Loves:
Lucas enjoys cuddling and downtime with his foster family.
He loves playing tug o’ war with his pug foster brother, which helps build his confidence.
He often enjoys his chew bone or squeaky trout toy to keep him stimulated.
Lucas’s forever family will need to continue working with him to reinforce and advance the progress he’s been making. He’s a fantastic dog to grow with, and he’s ready to bring lots of love, loyalty, and joy to his new home!
Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.
