You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.SPONSORSHIP OR LOCAL FOSTER ONLY Kobe's Journey with Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue We wanted to share an update about our sweet Kobe, who recently saw the vet for an evaluation. It was confirmed that Kobe's right front leg was broken at the elbow and, unfortunately, never healed properly. Given his age, estimated to be around 10-12 years, the vet recommends leaving it as is to avoid any further distress. Kobe came to us as an owner surrender, having never been properly taken care of. Despite this rough start in life, Kobe has shown incredible resilience and a loving spirit. We’ve noticed that his hind legs don’t always work as they should. The cause is still uncertain, and we are continuing to monitor him closely with the help of our dedicated veterinary team. Despite these challenges, Kobe remains as loving and gentle as ever. He's an inspiration to us all, showing that even with obstacles, there's always room for love and care. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 We’re committed to ensuring Kobe gets the best quality of life and all the comfort he deserves. Thank you for your continued support and love for our precious seniors like Kobe. If you’d like to help with Kobe’s ongoing care, please consider making a donation. Every little bit helps us provide the necessary medical attention and love for him and all the pups at Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue. Story
Rocky is a handsome, 7 yr old, 14 lb. Pekingese.  Rocky is an attentive, happy, and playful Pekingese who just happens to be mostly blind. He can see some shadows and movement but must be leashed-walked so he doesn’t bump into anything.  Rocky is very happy and learns to navigate his surroundings quickly.  This little guy’s favorite activities are eating, walking 2-4 times/day, playing with toys, and of course TREATS! He has an uncanny sense of finding the toy baskets in the house.  He absolutely LOVES to ride in the car (seat-belted in of course). Rocky’s ideal home is quiet, with an experienced Peke owner, and as an only dog. His owner will be a special person who understands his disability and Peke disposition and is willing to work with him.  Like most Pekes, he takes a while to warm up to new people but once you earn his trust, you are his person!  He must be monitored every 6 months to ensure he hasn’t developed glaucoma. Rocky is on inexpensive anti-inflammatory drops (Neo-Poly-Dex) for his right eye.  Rocky is a good patient at the vet. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN UNDER 18 YO). We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption fee is $400 (which includes a couple of bottles of eye drops, which he is very good about taking, and one month of heartworm prevention).December 26, 2024, 1:26 am

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:11/23/24 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Willow is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/2/24 Willow had a dental polishing. Willow is a poodle / pekingese mix. She is NOT hypoallergenic. Willow is half of a bonded pair with her best friend Sadie. They will only be adopted together. If you aren't looking for 2 dogs, Willow is not your dog. Weight: 12.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 for the pair Fence needed? Yes, Willow requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Willow and Sadie are a bonded pair. They have always been together, sharing a pen in their former home, so they must be adopted together. We know it may be challenging to find someone willing to adopt two dogs, but we’re hopeful that the perfect family will fall in love with these two sweet girls and offer them a forever home. Willow’s ideal home would be one where someone is around most of the day. Retirees or individuals who work from home would be the perfect fit. Willow and Sadie prefer to be the only dogs in your home. Cats would be okay. What is my personality like? Say hello to Willow, a six-year-old Peekapoo, affectionately known as Woo Woo (or simply Woo). She and her sister, Sadie were surrendered to us when their owner had a new baby and could no longer care for them. Her owner shared, “These two are so very loved, and I’m going to be lost without them. I hope they find a home together, but as long as they find someone who loves them and spends time with them, I’ll be happy.” Willow loves people and craves attention, especially belly rubs. She’s a bit of a snuggle bug and loves being near her humans. While she can suffer from some separation anxiety and may nip at your pant leg when you leave, she’s also very sweet and affectionate once she feels comfortable with you. Willow has a dislike for car rides—while Sadie will sit still, Willow prefers to wander and might try to sit in your lap, so taking them along to alleviate their anxiety may not be the best solution. Willow is very fond of food. We think “When Harry Met Sally” is Willow’s favorite movie because when she sees you eating she’ll look at you and seemingly say, “I’ll have what she’s having.” Go ahead and try and resist giving her some. Because she can be a little food-aggressive, it’s best to feed her separately from Sadie. She loves vegetables, fruits, and especially pizza—so be prepared for some adorable begging! Willow loves attention, especially belly rubs. They are her favorite! She’s a little snuggle puppy and loves her big sister Sadie. She also loves her “babies” - stuffed animals. She’ll greet you with one in her mouth and expects lots of praise for her prized possessions. She enjoys chasing squirrels and has a protective streak, barking at delivery people and keeping a watchful eye on the house. Willow is housebroken and crate-trained, though she would prefer to sleep with you—whether you're in the bed or not! She and Sadie used to cuddle together on the couch at night, but Willow is perfectly content snuggling up wherever she can get some love. If you have the time, patience, and love to offer, Willow (and her sister Sadie) will bring joy, companionship, and endless snuggles to your life. These girls are ready to find their forever family.  Willow is a sweet girl that loves attention and pets but most of all, belly rubs! How do I act when I first meet new people? At first, Willow can be a little shy and cautious with new people. But once she gets to know you, she’s a total lovebug who craves attention, pets, and—of course—belly rubs. Other tips and tidbits: We estimate Willow was born on or around 12/1/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. December 12, 2024, 8:02 am

Story
Pika Pika is an energetic, happy 2-year-old Pekingese who weighs about 10 lbs. As you can see from her photos, she is missing one eye but that does not hold this little girl back. Her favorite activity is dragging dog beds around the house, and then rolling in and under the dog beds.  If you know the Pekingese breed, these rolling and "redecorating" activities are most likley familar to you.   Pika Pika is shy when meeting new people (particularly men), but once she’s comfortable, her puppy-like personality shines. She loves to play with the other small dogs in her foster mom’s home. We prefer her adopter have experience with the Pekingese breed and be aware of how important it is to keep her safe so nothing happens to her good eye. She is doing well with house training and leash walking, but loud noises or strange objects can startle her on walks and she will balk.  Pika Pika will do best in a home with another small social dog, preferably Pekingese, so she can continue to watch and learn from the other dog.  She walks best when she’s with a social doggie companion.  She is VERY fast shooting out the door, can jump high and gets really fired up doing yard and house zoomies, especially in the afternoon and evening before dinner and "sofa-time."  Her foster mom can barely get meals ready fast enough for her. Pika Pika tries to help by demand-barking, but if that doesn't work, then bed dragging is her second choice.    WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, which is attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. Story
Jax is the cutest, tiniest Pekingese you’ll ever see. Jax is around 8 years old and weighs in at 6lbs, but has a huge personality. He is one of the most self-confident little dogs we have ever met.  Nothing seems to scare or startle him which can have its upsides and downsides.   Jax was a little “spicy” when he first came to our rescue, but now that he has had some dental extractions and learned that people are going to be nice to him, he is getting much better about being picked up and put down by his foster mom. He guards things he puts in his mouth, so we ask that his adopter be patient and work with him while he continues learning to trust. Jax still hates to have his bum wiped or touched and will let you know by trying to bite you.  Jax likes to be petted and seeks attention and affection.    Jax is doing well with his housetraining and will use a pee pad if available.  He should be leashed-walked because he wants to put things in his mouth, like acorns (which are toxic to dogs), so he does not necessarily need a fenced yard, although a small tidy fenced yard would be great.   He has short little legs and can climb a few steps but cannot do a flight of stairs, so a home where he can walk out into the yard without having to navigate more than 2 steps is by far the best.  He really prefers to take himself in and out (while on a leash) versus being carried.  We prefer his new owner to be familiar with the Pekingese breed. Jax would do best being the only dog in the home; however, if you have another tiny dog who doesn’t mind getting bossed around (especially initially) and will not retaliate when Jax is inappropriate (which he will be), then coexisting is certainly possible.  He learned to get along and was less of a bully after slow introductions to a few other small dogs in his foster home.  Although, if you have a "lap for one," then Jax may be just right for you.  Jax sleeps happily in a crate in his foster parent's bedroom; they do not have him sleep in their bed since he is so tiny and could easily fall off and get severely injured.  He also rides nicely crated in the car. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee.
