Story
Have you ever seen such a handsome dog?This is Silas! Silas was found running as a stray and was never reclaimed by his previous humans. We are guessing he is around 3 years old and he's as healthy as a horse! Silas can be cautious when meeting new people and does best with slow, easy introductions. Based on his reactions to the other dogs, introductions with them will also have to be slow! We think he would do best in a home with older children and needs his boundaries respected! He's an extremely smart dog and has been easy to get into a routine here at the shelter with, so any additional training at home should be a breeze! He loves to play long games of fetch, then when he's tired he loves to lay in the kitty pool or get sprayed with the hose!Due to his past, we would need for Silas to go to a home with a securely fenced yard or someone that's willing to walk him daily. He's a boy that is going to need a fair amount of exercise and something to keep his brain busy if he's to be left home for long periods of time. He has some restraint issues and makes his boundaries clear. This also means he will need a home with lots of large breed experience! **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. He weighs 82 lbs**

Story
Say "Hello" to Finn!Finn and his brother Sawyer (also available!) came to our shelter a couple of months ago from some pretty tough circumstances. They were found dumped outside of our building cramped together in a small kennel in the pouring rain. We quickly figured out where these two came from and were able to get a little information on their background.Finn is a younger Husky mix and takes on the leader role of the two brothers. We were told that they had been around other animals and were fine with children. As always, we would encourage slow introductions to any household member furry or not! Finn is crate-trained and keeps a clean space when he is let out regularly. His leash manners could use a little work but with some guidance he's going to do fantastic! Allegedly, Finn has a history of being a runner if left unsupervised (like most Huskies!)  so we are encouraging leash walks or a fenced area to burn off some energy. This brindled babe is the whole package! Friendly, intelligent and super duper handsome and charming and PERFECT! Finn's dog days are long behind him and he's ready to start his next chapter into adopted life. **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 60 lbs**

Story
This sweet guy is Sawyer!He and his brother Finn (also available)  found themselves here at FDHS one rainy evening after hours. They had been dumped on our doorstep in a crowded kennel covered in their own feces with no shelter from the pouring rain. Thankfully, we had a few staff members staying late and they discovered these poor guys before they left for the night. We quickly learned where these two had come from and despite our kennels being over-crowded and not knowing entirely what we were going to do with them, we were happy that they were here and not where they were. Sawyer is the more timid of the two brothers and sometimes takes a little longer to warm up to new people and situations. We were told he's done well with other animals and children in his previous home and that he was used to being crated. He's done very well here with the staff and is tolerant of the other shelter dogs. We think with slow introductions that he'd blend in well with most households.He does keep a clean kennel through the day and knows a few of his basic commands. He is very treat and praise motivated so we believe any additional training should be a breeze. Due to his history, Sawyer is a runner and would need to go to a home with a fenced yard or someone willing to leash walk him! He is a husky mix so he will need a good physical and mental outlet for all that energy!Sawyer is a gentle soul that's been failed by humans. We are determined to never let that happen to him again. If you have some extra love to spare, consider making Sawyer a member of the family!**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 60 lbs**
