Meet Zuca! The biggest couch potato around! He is a 6 year old podengo mix that was found stranded in the woods before being rescued by Bring Portuguese Podengos to Light. Since arriving at Fast Friends he has acquired the loving nickname of "Zucchini". He is a calm, loving dog that enjoys a good nap but also loves to play. When Zuca is in a playful mood he runs as fast as he can, then proceeds to flop on the ground and patiently wait for his belly rubs. Zuca can be quite shy around new people, but once he gets to know them he is the sweetest boy. Overall he has good leash manners and enjoys going on leisurely stalls with the occasional break for pets. He is a little leash reactive toward unfamiliar dogs and will bark at them when he is feeling overwhelmed. Zuca does good with other dogs but can be a little picky about making friends and requires a slow introduction. He would thrive in a low to moderately active home. Hello! My name is Diva, I am 10 months old, and I weigh approx. 28lbs. Let me tell you a little about myself. I was flown a distance from my homeland in Portugal, to have a better chance of adoption here in the US. To be honest, the language around here is kind of weird, but I’m getting used to the weird words, like “sit”. I’m always very excited to meet anyone, I love playing wit other dogs during playtime and for sure would be great company for long walks. Like any puppy, I still need some basic manners, but aim to please! Be careful though, I’m quick and could steal that yummy treat out of your hand in a blink of an eye. I could grow up to be a wonderful family dog, that will love you forever. Please take a moment to think about adopting me! Diva would do well in a home, and possibly in an apartment setting under the right circumstances. Hello, there, my name is Scooby. I am a shy boy, but I'm working on building my confidence. I think a home with someone who understands that I need time and patience to slowly warm up to them would be the best for me. I know I will be a great family member, I would need someone who is an experienced dog owner to help guide me through the rest of my life in my new home. I like other dogs and play well with them, especially if they don’t mind roughhousing. I am always showing off my toys in my kennel to the staff. Ollie is a 3 year old Portuguese Podengo. He may be a pint sized dog at roughly 30 lbs, but he has a large personality. Ollie would thrive in a moderately active home where he can get lots of walks and playtime as well as plenty of time to relax and take naps. Ollie can be a little shy around new people and environments but tends to adjust well given time. Due to Ollie's past experiences he has a very hard time trusting men and would do best in a female only home or with an expired adopter that can work with his fears help him find confidence. Ollie does ok with other dogs but can be overwhelming to some. He is very playful that loves doing zoomies with his favorite toys and splashing around in a kiddie pool. He is also one of the biggest cuddle bugs and loves getting pet and taking naps. Ollie is really the best of both worlds when it comes to his favorite activities. * Fast Friends adopts in the New England area.
