Story
Waffles is an adorable yet shockingly undersocialized and fearful pomeranian mix that came to Murci's Mission when his prior owners could no longer care for him. He has an estimated birthday of 09/15/2023.
Waffles accepts kids and other animals, and he likes to go for walks, but he is terrified of being picked up and will thrash and vocalize. Waffles' ideal family would be one who will hold him accountable to continue to make social progress and not needlessly panic over normal life experiences. He will enjoy a consistent routine, watching movies together, going for car rides, reading books, and slowly letting a normal life seep in with the support of a reliable guardian.
Waffles is presently a major flight risk, and any potential adopter who is approved must show up to the meet and greet with and air tag, tile, or any GPS collar like Fi, Halo, or Garmin. It must also be understood that Waffles will need to drag a lead for the first few weeks until he is comfortable approaching and being picked up by his people. We will provide a lightweight 20' lead for him to go home with. He will need to wear and be walked on a martingale style collar for the duration of his life so he cannot slip out of the collar in a panic.
Waffles adoption fee is $200 and includes a leash, martingale collar, ID tag, long line, food sample, and medical records. He comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.
PS: Waffles and his social state are the cause of unethical fad breeding. He is a "pomsky" and came to the rescue with the original paperwork from his breeder who chose to place him without a microchip, and without requiring he be returned to them if things didn't work out. There is no ethical reason to created mixed breed dogs, and any breeder placing dogs without registered microchips has already accepted having no idea where the dogs they create end up.
If you're going to buy a puppy, please refuse to continue unless both parent dogs have basic genetic testing, the puppy is microchipped, and you sign a contract requiring you to return the puppy if things don't work out.
