Meet Sky, this handsome boy was born in rescue to a mom that was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation. He is healthy and happy and ready to find him home. He would do best in a home with another dog . We don't know what he is mixed with he is a little bigger than a normal Pomeranian however just as handsome. He is completely vetted and we are working on housetraining and doing well, since we are fenced in, he goes out every few hours. He also knows to use his puppy pads. Poppy is an adorable senior Pomeranian Mix, estimated to be 11.5 years old and 11.5 lbs. He’s a very cute, sweet dog but he is a little old man who just likes to hang out with his favorite human(s). he’s not a cuddly lap dog, and is not especially playful pup. His favorite activities are napping and watching what’s going on around him…without necessarily engaging in any activities. He’s more of an observer vs a participant! Poppy would sure love to be an only dog, but, would do ok with another quiet senior who would not bother him with play or cuddling. He’s looking for a place to just chill and hang out in his twilight years, not being bothered by lots of people or by children. Poppy is in overall good health but he appears to have poor eyesight. He just had extensive dental work. He is of course neutered and microchipped and is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on year-round heartworm prevention. Grapefruit came to Almost Home Foundation back in December. She was part of the group of 60+ Pomeranians seized from a backyard breeder. She came to Almost Home Foundation pregnant and had her pups shortly after arriving. Being pregnant and having babies is all Grapefruit knew prior to joining AHF. She is 2 years old and is slowly learning how to just be a dog but is still very cautious of people. She loves to go on walks and to play with her foster siblings. She will occasionally bark at the cats in her foster home, but other than that, Grapefruit doesn't really care about them. She is going to need someone very patient that understands that it is going to take time for Grapefruit to adjust to her forever home. Grapefruit needs another dog for company and a fenced in yard. Resses came from the hoarding case of poms. He joined AHF as a young puppy and was adopted quite quickly. He was recently returned for showing resource guarding issues. His foster mom is helping him work through his issues. His new family will need to be dedicated to continue training. He loves other dogs and has loads of energy. He plays with his foster siblings all day long. His foster siblings have been helping him learn that he doesn't need to guard his food bowls/toys, but he does still have issues. Before coming to Wisconsin, Lance only knew his backyard in Texas. One day his owner died… leaving him and 5 other dogs in the backyard. Our Texan rescue friends went to the property to get Lance and his doggie family out of there, but one of them was not so lucky. 😢Lance was taken into a foster home in Texas where he learned to live in a house 🏠 with people. He’s learned that potty is for outside, a kennel is a safe spot, and to trust people. After his long and stressful journey 🚐 to Wisconsin he had to learn to trust all over again, but children helped! After being given a chance to warm up, Lance enjoys being around people, especially kids! 👦🏼 He can be quiet and shy… then he’ll surprise you with his cute, fluffy tail wags and his adorable, playful demeanor! He’s just starting to learn that couches are comfy and snuggling at the foot of the bed 🛏️ can be delightful. We believe that Lance is a Pomeranian mix. He’s around 4 years old and weighs 13 pounds. He’s also neutered and UTD on vaccines. 💉 Lance walks well on a leash and enjoys being brushed. He does really well at the groomer’s too. 🛁 Although he doesn’t seem to mind dogs of any size, he prefers other dogs or puppies 🐶 that are more his size to play with. He does well around cats too. We’d love to see him go to a forever home that has either children or a size-appropriate companion for Lance so that he can begin living his best life.
