Story
Meet Fifi! This adorable, 14 year old shih tzu ended up with Starfish after her owner passed away. Please don't let her age fool you... this girl is still spirited and spunky! The best part about adopting a senior is that she is already potty trained and loves to lay around! She also gets along well with other dogs. Fifi is completely blind and will require eye medication for the rest of her life. She also has some arthritis, but is doing great on a joint supplement and pain medication. This girl still has so much love to give.  If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 8:41 pm

Story
Theo Theo Bo Beo, Banana Fana Fo Feo, THEEEEOOO! Alright, now that we got that out of the way (because every dog deserves a silly song about their name), let us help you fall in love with our little fluff monster. Theo was rescued from a local animal control after being found as a stray. Although terribly matted and needing to be shaved, Theo quickly won the heart of one of our volunteers who happened to be there meeting another dog. With big tail wags and all smiles, he crawled into her lap for some face licks and cuddles. And just like that, Theo became a WISH dog! We've learned a lot about Theo over the last few months. He's a pro at dressing up in costumes He doesn't love the crate, but tolerates it just fine He's got a great smile and the softest coat He has good taste in dog friends, and likes those that match his vibe He's the perfect age to still be youthful and playful, but also enjoy daily naps He's not a great adventurer and prefers the homebody life Playing catch is his favorite thing, next to snuggling up with his human of course He's 95% potty trained He doesn't like to share the things he loves most like special treats and toys Theo has put in the time becoming the best version of himself and this boy is ready to find his forever family to appreciate the special little guy that he is! The adoption fee for Theo is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Theo please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team members.

Story
Meet Tripper, the Pomsky with a heart as sweet as honey! At 8 years old and weighing 45 pounds, this charming lady has an incredible story to tell. Tripper, a loving mother who once raised the most enchanting pups known as "The Beatles litter," ensured they all found their forever homes. Now, it's her turn to find a loving forever family. Tripper is the embodiment of sweetness. Her love knows no bounds, and her warm heart is open to everyone she meets, with a special soft spot for kids. This happy-go-lucky pup is perpetually adorned with a heartwarming smile. Tripper's zest for life is evident in her love for walks, car rides, and making new friends. She's not only house-trained and crate-trained, but also adapts beautifully to being left to roam freely. Tripper is a sociable soul and gets along well with other dogs. However, it's worth noting that she's not a fan of feline friends. Though Tripper has diabetes, it's no obstacle to offering her a loving home. Giving her insulin shots is a small price to pay for the boundless affection and joy she'll bring into your life. Tripper is a testament to resilience, love, and the unwavering sweetness of a dog's heart. Give her a chance, and you'll find a loyal companion ready to light up your world with love and smiles. Her minimum adoption fee is $145 plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
