Story
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK MEET PETE the PEEKAPOM North New Jersey This adorable little boy with the cutest little toopheses you've ever seen is a black with white mask and toes, male Pekingese – Pomeranian mix (PeekaPom), 13 lbs., and around 6-7 years old. He is a FUN and FUNNY little guy. He LOVES to play with toys, dogs, you, whatever, he's not fussy. He tosses his toy around in the air and then jumps to catch it himself! He will chase a tossed ball for as long as you'll throw it. And he will entertain himself in general sniffing around, chewing on a nylabone, or taking naps in the sun. He is a VERY affectionate little guy and has done well learning boundaries while here. He is now quite independent and has learned the routine. In fact, sometimes his foster mom has to drag him out of the bedroom to come outside with the others! He sleeps on a doggie bed next to his foster mom’s bed at night but would definitely LOVE to sleep in bed with his person. He snuggles on the couch while watching tv, etc. He has a blast playing with the other pups in his foster home so would be nice for him to have another fur friend to play with but it is not necessary as long as he has a human around for most of the day. He is more of the submissive type and is afraid of alpha bullies. So no mean doggies in his new home! He is also afraid of small children so tweenagers and up please. His xrays were normal, blood work was good, and physical exam perfect! Thus, he made his way into surgery for a dental and to get his cherry eye removed. He was extremely well behaved at the vet and groomer. He will need eye drops for dry eye and eye pressure for life. He is UTD, HW negative, neutered, dewormed, dental, housebroken, and full of love. Adoption donation is $450. TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION We only process complete applications and providing false information immediately disqualifies you from adopting. https://gingerbreaddogs.org/adopt-overview/adoption-application/ Please follow our Facebook page to see new dogs as they arrive and to keep up on the daily shenanigans: https://www.facebook.com/gingerbreaddogs ABOUT OUR PROCESS: WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. We typically get in touch within 24-48 hours, but it may take up to 10 days. Please watch your email and answer your phone (from 201 area code) after you submit an application. Unfortunately, we do not have the manpower to reply to all applicants. We also do not have the manpower to accept phone calls. Everything we know about the dog is posted above. Our adoption process is on our website. You can see more about our daily operations on our Facebook page. PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with us, we will move on to the next application and you will not be considered. We consider out-of-area adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey, and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is “first qualified, first come” and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue, and we reserve the right to deny adoption at any point during the process.

Story
Thor-tin is an 11 year old Pomeranian mix who weighs about 21 lbs. He is completely up to date on vaccines and prevention as well as neutered. Thor is great with kids and anyone and everyone. He's also good with cats and most dogs but he doesn't like larger dogs around his face. His foster parents pet sit so Thor has been around 100 lb. dogs - he does well as long as they are not in his face. Even then, all he does is growl and walk away.  Thor is potty trained and crate trained - he has the whole run of the house but sometimes we crate him if necessary. He can walk on a leash but can pull a little. He's even good for the groomer! Thor's family is going through a divorce and the husband is not reliable while the wife will be taking care of their autistic son. Thor is looking for a wonderful home where he can enjoy the rest of his life.  If you'd like to give Thor a loving, safe forever home, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for him by name, THOR-TIN TX!August 19, 2024, 1:22 pm

Story
Oakley, is a very social, sweet, adorable little male Pomeranian that loves to be held and loves to snuggle. This 5-pound little guy was born on 11/19/21. He was born with malformed knees, also called stifles, which cause him to move with somewhat lowered hindquarters like he is getting ready to sit or squat. However, this does not slow him down and when he hears his name called, he comes running. Oakley is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, had a dental, tested heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea & tick prevention to maintain his good health. Due to his small size he will not be considered for homes with small children. Oakley is located in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $965 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Oakley, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here. Story
Linus is one of the 180 animals recently removed from the horrific rescuer turned hoarder case in Brick, NJAfter all he's been through, he deserves to be loved, cuddled, spoiled, and pampered for the rest of his life... but just not him and definitely not what he wants or needs. For him, true love comes in the form of respect and space, not hugs and kisses. At first glance he is overall a friendly guy who dances and spins for attention, and seems ok with other dogs. He is a larger mostly pomeranian (mix?), about 17lbs full grown. This guy was in rough shape when first rescued- very matted, covered in fleas and itchy scabs, and urine scalded from living far too long crated in his own waste, but is looking and feeling much better now thanks to the care of the Ocean County Shelters' staff and volunteers, and his ready to leave his past behind. Linus has shown some resource guarding issue with his food and bones, and handling has to be on his terms (although he is already doing well with his basket muzzle training which is definitely a must for vet visits!) Linus is looking for an adult home that will respect his space and limitations and help him adjust to a real home. Not a lap dog, he's more like a cat who will come and rub against you for pets but let you know with a good swat when he's had enough (or in his case, some pinches with his luckily mostly toothless mouth!) Please submit an application if you would like to give Linus the life he deserves and has earned in his senior years. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 17 Age: 9yrs 7mths 1wks
