Story
Hello! I'm Kiko! My sister Zumi and I were surrendered to the shelter because our owners didn't have time for us anymore. We may be homeless now, but at least we have each other here to get through it. We are a bonded pair because of our attachment and reliance on each other. When we first came here, we were terrified, and we clung to each other for security. We still do to some degree, but we are gaining more confidence every day! I am a little more slow to warm up to people than my sister, but if you go slowly with me, I will be sitting on your lap and asking for attention in no time! We both have our fair share of energy to burn, so walks, playtime, and mental stimulation are all right up our alley! We are friendly with most people after a little exposure, but tiny kids that are grabby and can't respect space would probably not be the best fit for us. We are also overall pretty dog friendly as well! Does this dynamic duo sound like a good fit for your home and family? Come meet us at the shelter! Story
Meet Peewee! Oh hey, I’m Peewee and I see you have a hand free - please pet me! You won’t regret it - I’m super soft and plush! I’m a pomeranian mix and I have the fur to prove it. I’m a senior and about 13 pounds. I don’t have any known health issues. I was found as a stray in Chicago - can you believe it? Beautiful moi?? Kids, adults, seniors - I love anyone who wants to give me some attention. Here in my foster home, I love to be where the action is. You’re in the kitchen? I’m in the kitchen! You’re watching TV? Well, me too! I’ve been attending lots of Albert’s events lately, and I love meeting my fans. I also live with several other dogs in my foster home. We’re all fine with each other, but we all have a little dog complex, and we all want to be “the boss.” I can get a little vocal with the other dogs, but that’s it. But I shouldn't live with cats. I’m a pretty vocal guy in genereal, and probably wouldn’t make the best apartment dog. Despite my age, I have some energy and would do best in a home that can give me regular walks. I get so excited when the leash comes out! I’m house trained and don’t destroy anything when left out, but might have an accident when left out for long periods unsupervised. My foster parents crate me when they leave the house, and I don’t mind too much. I get a little nervous during thunderstorms, but you can keep me comfortable by sitting close to me so I know there's nothing to be scared of. Now foster mom says that I'm all clear to find my forever home, so I hope you have someone that lives with you that might have a free hand to pet me alot! *Peewee is being fostered in Madison, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
***** King has some special needs and is looking for a special home so he is a member of our Lonely Hearts Club and his adoption fee has been reduced to $275. *****Hear ye, hear ye! 'Tis I, King; ruler of the Realm of Cuteness. I am quite pleased to make your acquaintance, but you should know that there are rules in my kingdom which must not be breached. Kindly allow me to be the only pet, please let me reside in a castle free of small children, and honor my request to meet any men prior to adoption. I do have some health issues, which are being managed, and my friends here will help you to better understand them. Aside from that, I am loyal, kind, and noble once I get to know you. Please come in to introduce yourself, and we can share a chalice of water. Love, KingBe sure to ask to meet me at the Adoption Center desk, as I'm staying in a quieter part of the shelter. Medical History: It can be pretty stressful here at the shelter, so I am on an anti-anxiety medication to help me feel more comfortable while I wait for my new family to come along. I am also currently on a medication to manage my epilepsy. Plans should be made with my new veterinarian to keep me happy and healthy!Weight: 19 lbsAdoption Fee: $275 + taxIf you'd like to meet me, click the "Learn About the Adoption Process" button below to plan a visit to the shelter!
