Story
Hello everyone! I'm Dara, a 5-year-old Pomsky on the lookout for my forever or foster home! I was at a puppy mill and was finally surrendered to this amazing rescue group and they even scheduled my spay. At 47 pounds, I may be a bit bigger than your average Pomsky, but I've got an even bigger heart full of love to give. Right now, I'm feeling a tad shy and reserved, but with a little extra love and patience, I know I'll come out of my shell and shine like the star I am. I’m good with other dogs and despite my initial timidity, I'm a sweet and gentle soul who craves companionship and affection. I'm a firm believer in the power of trust, and once I know I can rely on you, I'll be your most loyal and devoted companion. With my striking beauty and gentle spirit, I'm sure to steal your heart and become the best friend you've ever had! Dara is available for adoption but is also in need of a foster home. To Adopt (or foster-to-adopt), please complete the adoption application here: https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application To Foster, please complete the foster application here: https://anewchancear.org/foster/fostering-application/ Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Thor-tin is an 11 year old Pomeranian mix who weighs about 21 lbs. He is completely up to date on vaccines and prevention as well as neutered. Thor is great with kids and anyone and everyone. He's also good with cats and most dogs but he doesn't like larger dogs around his face. His foster parents pet sit so Thor has been around 100 lb. dogs - he does well as long as they are not in his face. Even then, all he does is growl and walk away.  Thor is potty trained and crate trained - he has the whole run of the house but sometimes we crate him if necessary. He can walk on a leash but can pull a little. He's even good for the groomer! Thor's family is going through a divorce and the husband is not reliable while the wife will be taking care of their autistic son. Thor is looking for a wonderful home where he can enjoy the rest of his life.  If you'd like to give Thor a loving, safe forever home, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for him by name, THOR-TIN TX!August 17, 2024, 11:40 am

Story
Oakley, is a very social, sweet, adorable little male Pomeranian that loves to be held and loves to snuggle. This 5-pound little guy was born on 11/19/21. He was born with malformed knees, also called stifles, which cause him to move with somewhat lowered hindquarters like he is getting ready to sit or squat. However, this does not slow him down and when he hears his name called, he comes running. Oakley is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, had a dental, tested heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea & tick prevention to maintain his good health. Due to his small size he will not be considered for homes with small children. Oakley is located in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $965 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Oakley, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here.
