Story
Hercules is a 6 year old purebred Puggle that was adopted from a breeder in Virginia. He is a very funny energetic, yet cuddly and loving dog. He loves to snuggle with you in bed and on the couch. He loves fetch. He is very playful with other dogs, and he is wonderful with people, especially children. He is crate and potty trained, chipped, and up to date with all preventatives. The reason we are rehoming him is because he has not gotten along very well with our third dog. He was our second dog, and got along just fine with the first one. Something about the third one clashes with him. Three dogs is too much for our family, now especially with a young baby in the house and another on the way. We feel that he will be perfect for your home. He is a sweet, loving boy. Please help us find a good family for him. We love him dearly.

Story
A FRIENDLY & ADORABLE GUY:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 20 lbs.  Hi, my name is Tex!  I had a home, as I was adopted from Mostly Mutts a few years ago.  Unfortunately, my family fell on hard times, so I am back with Mostly Mutts looking for a new family to love!  Though I’m not the best at smiling for the camera and my pictures may make me look a little grumpy, I am NOT a grumpy boy, but rather friendly and adorable! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the older dog in my foster home, and the 2 younger and smaller dogs I met recently too!  I do growl at the mostly blind dog when he bumps into me or approaches me in my dog bed, so my foster corrects that behavior and I try to listen, but I don’t love being bumped by him.  I do nap with him at times though.   I met a puppy too that invaded my personal space and I barked at her to let her know this, though I was tolerant.  So, if you have another dog, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, but I am working on my ‘happy to see you’ jumping, so my foster recommends no very young kids that I may bump over and let’s meet!   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  When asked, the volunteers at the shelter describe me with one main word – sweet, sweet, sweet!  I was always excited to see them, since I am very much a people dog.  I seek out attention whenever I can and have been very friendly.  When guests leave my foster home, I may tug at their pants as if to stay, ‘no wait, don’t go’! My foster has started picking me up to watch guests leave as it keeps me calm.  I am a ‘wonderful gentleman’ just looking for a family to love and be loved by!  In my foster home, they say that I’m a sweet, friendly, gentle, and a mannerly gentleman too! / My energy level is 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and have shown great leash manners.  I bet you can teach me even more!  I take treats gently too. I consider it my job to be an alert barker like when a delivery person pulls up or a squirrel runs by, and sometimes I bark with the other dogs.  I think I may bark a bit too much at all the noises that are in an apartment building, so probably best no apartment/condo type home.  / I don’t need a crate in my foster home. / I had a few accidents on the shelter schedule but am doing well in my foster home as long as I’m taken out often enough.  My foster has pee pads for her own dog that I’ve learned to potty on, if I need to go and can’t get outside, so you may want to consider having those for me too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I thrive on attention and love being with people!  Scratches and head kisses make me happy, and I enjoy sitting next to my foster family, but not really in their laps.   I’m not a big fan of toys, but I sure would be a fan of being your loving companion! / Though I ride very well in the car, my foster doesn’t think that I love to do that.  I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I had a dental cleaning, so my mouth is clean again. Since I’m an older fellow, I take an over-the-counter Cosequin supplement that’s good for all older dogs.  I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 20, 2024, 6:44 am

Story
LOOKING FOR A NICE CALM FAMILY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 23 lbs.    Hi, I’m Tabitha!  I came from a situation where there were just too many dogs in a home, and we needed some help.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts was able to answer the call for assistance and I was able to spend a month in a great foster home learning and getting used to a stable environment!  Now I’m at the MM facility learning even more and I’m ready to find my very own family to love and be loved by!    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with other dogs that I liked, however as I’ve gained a little confidence, we learned that I should not live with other dogs as I want the toys and dog beds just for myself.  I will guard my items and have growled and snapped when I think another dog is too close, so I should be your only dog, please.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids close up yet, but on a couple of instances I have become very stressed when I see them playing from a distance, so a home without kids or perhaps mature kids 15 and older would be best and let’s meet. This includes kids that may come into my home to visit, such as grandkids, etc. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m back at the MM facility now, but here’s what my 1-month foster reported about me:  My fosters knew just what to do when I went home with them to make me feel comfortable. Initially they were quiet and just let me think and make sense of my new space and they only engaged with me when I initiated, which made me feel very safe. The first 3 days, I just wanted to stay in a nice dog bed in the living room (of course they took me out to potty and spent time in the room too), but by the end of day 3 I started venturing around the home. It is a smaller type of home which I personally like.  By the evening of day 4, I wanted to sleep in the same room as my fosters and on day 6, I was comfortable venturing into the other various rooms within the 1 story home without having them in sight. I’ve been here a few weeks now and I like being petted, tummy rubs, little kisses on the head, nestling up to them and laying on them!  I respond very well to positive reinforcement and the best thing is that I wag my tail now when I see my foster! They gave me time and patience to figure things out and I’ve come a long way and am transforming into a more confident pup. / My energy level is currently 4 – 6.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer! When I was in a foster home, I walked well on a leash and looked back to my foster for reassurance.  When I encounter something new, my foster would let me stand and watch for a while so I can make sense of it and then we continue on our way.  I’ve embraced being a Beagle by enjoying all the sniffs on my walks.  I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / In the foster home I didn’t like being in a crate and could break out of it, which can be dangerous to me, so my foster gates me in my favorite room when they left, and I did very well with that. / My foster didn’t have a yard, so we went out on a leash to potty, and I did well with that!  I think I only had one initial accident but have done well on the schedule they have me on – so, yay me! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love soft dog beds with supportive edges that I can rest my head on. I have a newfound love of Benebones and soft squeaky toys, and once I’m comfortable with my people, I greatly enjoy being with them!  Food and treats are a good way to help me trust you as I sure like them. And I like it when you talk to me with a "dog voice" -lol / I don’t want to be rushed into new relationships or situations, so give me some time and space to figure things out please.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.     • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re a Beagle loving family and have extra time to help me settle in, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    August 20, 2024, 6:44 am
