Story
Lilly was adopted from a shelter in 2019. They did not have much history on her and estimated that she was 3 yrs old which would make her 8 yrs old now. Lilly is high energy but also likes to snuggle in a comfortable spot. The most important thing about her is that she loves to be around people. She will be your constant companion following you around. She would do best in a home where someone would be with her or can take her with you. She is a single pet now but acclimates quickly to other dogs. She can be sensitive about her back legs being touched. Her teeth were not in great shape when she was adopted and aging has lead to some falling out. She has switched to a softer food and has had no problems with eating or her weight. Lilly is amazing at playing catch. She loves a space to run and catch the ball, she is very fast! She currently has access to a doggy door and is very good at communicating her needs. She understands basic commands like sit.

Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. November 1, 2024, 6:01 pm

Story
Mr Pickle is a 2-year-old rat terrier/Chihuahua mix weighing about 8 lbs. He is a cute bundle of joy, who captures the hearts of all who meet him. Mr Pickle is very easy to get along with. He gets along with his canine and feline siblings in his foster home as well as all people he meets. He is working hard on being reliably house-trained and with regular breaks outside, he does very well.  Pickle is crate trained but would love to find a home that would allow him to snuggle and sleep with his favorite people. Although still young, Pickle has not shown a lot of interest in playing with his canine foster siblings. He will occasionally show a little pep in his step but primarily prefers to be a lap dog. Mr Pickle would prefer to live with someone who is home most of the time and who has a fenced yard. Although he is happy with a canine or feline buddy, it's not necessary to have that to maintain his happiness. Give him lots of cuddles and kisses and he will be your very best friend. See more photos at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/mrpickle .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Loyal, feisty 17-lb. Rocky is eager to please, a super snuggle buddy, and very motivated by treats and affection. This rat terrier/Chihuahua mix LOVES to run in the yard, chase his toys, and take long leashed walks. He is also smart and was a star student in his recent training class! He knows many verbal cues like sit, lie down, off, and place. When he needs recharging, he'll seek you out for some cuddling. He is reliably house-trained, rides well in the car, and has nice house manners. Anxiety about new people and larger dogs, however, is a challenge. They make Rocky bark and appear 'on edge.' A stranger ignoring these signals could get nipped. It has happened before. Rocky can be charming and affectionate and would truly like making new friends, but any potential friend must first slowly earn his trust. And while he generally gets along with dogs his size or smaller, his discomfort around bigger dogs could cause a scuffle if he's not monitored. On walks he ignores calm dogs passing by but lunges and barks at big, energetic ones. Because cats fascinate him and he's driven to chase them, kitties wouldn't make good housemates.  Now 5 years old, Rocky yearns for more space to run, fewer stressors, and lots of positive interaction with his trusted humans. His idea of heaven is a fenced yard and no other animals competing for resources or your attention. In a home with only adults who mostly stay home and have few visitors, Rocky will be happy, devoted, affectionate, obedient, and engaging. That's the real Rocky! And with your determination and love, he'll become your faithful companion for life. Rocky reveals more in his photos at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/rocky .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
LOOKING FOR LOVE:  Approx. 13 years old / Approx. 19 lbs.  Hi, I’m Nitro!  My foster says that I’m a sweet and loyal senior companion who has the cutest white eyebrows and brown Yoda ears, a wiggle butt with an adorable nub tail, and a happy, curious, and silly personality. I was adopted for about 3 years but came back to Mostly Mutts due to being protective of my mom and biting the grandson. I don’t really recall the circumstances of that, but I have not shown that behavior in my foster home and my foster will be happy to talk to you about how great I’m doing in their home.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have previously wanted to be an only dog as I showed resource guarding, but in my foster home I’m living with 2 larger dogs, and I’ve done just fine with them after a proper introduction.  I am mostly disinterested in them and don't want to play, but we coexist and go for walks together well, etc.  I also like the other senior foster dog since she just likes to nap nearby.  So, if you have a dog that sounds like this, we could meet and see how we do together.  I also don’t react to them on walks, I’m quite indifferent to seeing them from afar.  / No cats please. / No kids please due to the bite in my former home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m very devoted, loving, and sweet to my people! I’ll do best in a home where there are not too many new people coming and going because it can take a little bit for me to warm up to new folks. But once I trust you, I will nudge you to keep petting me if you stop, climb into your lap to kiss your face, and follow you everywhere around the house. I am a huge lovebug!  When I lived at the MM shelter, I was very overwhelmed/stressed with the number of people I was exposed to each day, so I had a few favorite people and there were a few bites when others came up to us suddenly.  Again, I haven’t shown any of this in my foster home.  I have a bit more weakness in my back legs and find myself a bit more tired these days so look for me napping on the multiple dogs beds around my foster home.  / My energy level is around a 3-4 and a bit higher if there is food involved! I get SO excited for food and will perk up my ears, do my tippy-tappy dance, and wiggle my entire behind whenever I hear the slightest crinkle of any bag, so cute!                           • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am very food motivated which is great for training. I’m an expert at sitting, and I will offer a sit to you anytime I think you have treats. I will come when you shake a bag of treats. My foster mom is working with me on not jumping up and other commands like stay, etc. When I lived at the shelter, I knew more commands, but I’m happy with the ones I remember now and if you would like to work on more with me, we can do that. / I've not loved the crate in the past, but I do great in a secure pen or a small room when you need to leave me alone. / I have good potty manners in my foster home on a schedule. During the day I can hold it for up to 4 hours, and then at night I hold it all night for 8 hours!    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  My two favorite things are eating food and being petted by my people. I also love short trots around the yard, bones, car rides, and fuzzy blankets! I enjoy looking out windows and rolling around in the grass outside too. I have a great nose and love to sniff around in the yard or play with puzzle toys inside.  I am curious about sights, sounds, and smells on my walks in the neighborhood or at the park with my foster.  My foster takes me out in a dog stroller so I can still have great adventures without walking too far. / I don’t like meeting people too quickly, so it is best to give me a little time to get to know you. Let me come to you instead of reaching for me. I will also bark at loud cars that pass by on walks, though I don’t bark much otherwise. I can't do stairs that well. I can manage a few, but if there is an entire flight of stairs, you'll have to pick me up which I have been fine with in my foster home. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention too. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have a collapsing trachea so I should take shorter walks, led with a harness not a collar.  I should also not be walked much when it’s hot outside - just to go to the potty or to a cool stream. I’ve been diagnosed with Cushing’s. I’ll need annual testing for Cushing’s, and I had that in Feb. 2024.  I am also being monitored for my liver function.  I take 3 medications, all quite easily for my foster! Just ask about these.  If you’re looking for a devoted dog and have a nice quiet home environment, we could be a good match!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 3, 2024, 8:07 am

A SWEET & FUN FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 15 lbs.  Hi, my name is Darcey!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control with another dog and I’m happy to be here!  I was a bit nervous initially, but I am settling in as I realize I am in a safe place with lots of folks who love me and want to see me find my furever family.  I’m ready to do that now! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came to Mostly Mutts with another dog – though I didn’t like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts and recently, I’ve not really even cared for walking with the dog I came in with.  So, it doesn’t look great – but if you have another dog, we could meet along with a trainer and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was very hesitant and fearful of them.  I think kids 15+ may be a better match for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers took things slowly with me initially and now my wonderful nature has blossomed!  I’m described as fun, playful and super sweet and I know you will love my friendly nature.  I’m alert to my surroundings and am a barker, so best no apartment or condo-type home please.  I was a well-mannered little girl for my bath and did great for my nail trim, too. / My energy level is 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’ve mastered the ‘sit’ command so far.  Check back soon to see my progress.  The volunteers have noticed that I will lunge toward cars while walking so please hold onto my leash tightly and maybe we can find quieter places to walk.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've had a few accidents on the shelter schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Playtime is always fun, and I really like for the volunteers to bring out the toys.  I’m a good walker, so I hope there are lots of walks in our future.  I’m ready to be your fun companion! / Other than showing reactiveness to other dogs I see when out and about, I can’t think of any dislikes, though  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 7, 2025, 9:22 am

Story
A WONDERFUL & FUN LITTLE GUY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 16 lbs.  Hello – I’m Stevie, a fun little pistol who Mostly Mutts rescued from animal control.  The volunteers are taking great care of me on the journey to my new home.  Come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and I seemed to be picky about which dogs I liked.  (I think meeting dogs at the shelter is just a bit much for me.)  I met a nice 3-year-old male doggie in my temp. foster home and liked playing with and sleeping near them.  We engaged in some mouthy play which was fun and tired us both out, so my temp. foster mom had us take breaks.  If you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet with my trainer.  / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them. I also met a boy and a girl around 6 years old in my temp. foster home and was sweet with them.  I can be a bit jumpy when first meeting, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am an adorable guy who has a lot of fun energy.  Sweet and friendly, I am ready to be a great companion.  I was very patient for my shelter bath and nail trim – so I got a “good boy” for that.  The MM photographer enjoyed our photo session and called me ‘bold, smart and fun’.  I haven’t been destructive and have only played with my toys.  I have the cutest signature underbite that the volunteers say is just adorable.  I bring a lot to the table for my new family, and I will reward you with lots of great memories. / My energy level is initially around a 6-8, but once I had a few days to get acclimated in my temp. foster home, it became around 5-7.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:   I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  When I initially meet people, I get excited and can be a bit jumpy but settle down after the initial excitement.  So, I’ll be working on accepting friendly strangers without jumping.  Check back soon to see what I have mastered. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in my temp. foster home, though she let me sleep outside my crate, in a doggie bed in her room – and I did great!  I slept all night and patiently waited for her to get up, even though I woke up before her!  / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, as well as in two temp. foster homes I visited, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  As active as I am, you know I love toys, so let’s have some fun with those!  Getting lots of love and attention from people makes me a happy guy as well.  After a day of curiosity and play, let’s settle down together and relax; I’m quite a cuddle bug after all!  / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a great home with a loving, fun family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 7, 2025, 9:44 am
