Story
Are you looking for a sweet, playful, fun-loving easy little companion? If so, you are in luck because I have just the one! Brekka is her name! This girl can come across a touch shy when you first meet her but it won’t be long before she is bouncing around with a toy showing you her fun side. She proves that shy but friendly is a sweet personality pairing, making friends easily with kids, dogs, cats and anyone who wants to play See her in action then come back to read more - Brekka is fortunate to be fostered in a loving home where she is being introduced to the good life. They have shared with us that Brekka has seamlessly transitioned right into the routine of their bustling home. She is crate trained but has been quiet in the home and is loving all the other dogs, playing with the kids and enjoying the snuggle spots including couches and her little bed-spending long parts of the day lounging around the house. She is currently fostered with other dogs and is friendly but even though she is little, she keeps up in play sessions with the big dogs just fine! She isn’t any bigger than the house cat and keeps a respectful distance, she isn’t interested in chasing or pushing the boundary. Brekka could easily live peacefully with a feline friend. On top of that, she is house trained, using the doggy door like a champ, and should only needed a quick tour of the yard or neighborhood, to understand where to go. Thanks to her size and easy-going demeanor, Brekka is ready for anything from apartment life or house with a yard life.! I could see Brekka in a family home busy with kids and other dogs, or an entertaining companion for an individual or a fur-baby to a couple. Truthfully, anyone looking for the connection and companionship of a dog would be in perfect company with Brekka. If Brekka sounds like your kind of girl she is ready and available! Any questions or if there are details we didn’t cover that you are curious about, please be in touch! We are happy to test for any details or situations to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life! Please email: Kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Pretty Cedar weighs just 13 lbs. The bit of white around her face is the only indication that she's almost 8 years old. Coming from a breeding background with limited positive human interaction, Cedar is shy and skittish. You'll need to go slow and let her get used to you. Then you'll have a new best friend. New people, new experiences, loud noises, and quick movements are all scary to her, but time and treats will help the highly food-motivated rat terrier acclimate. Cedar would do best where her people are home most of the time and there are no children as they specialize in loud noises and quick movements.    Cedar mastered her foster home's routines quickly. She's house-trained using a dog door and sleeps in her crate at night, even putting herself to bed. She has also been left loose indoors for a couple hours at a time without incident. Walking on a leash, although new to her, has become something she looks forward to. Quiet, secluded areas are best as she startles easily. Car rides are not a favorite activity because Cedar tends to get carsick. However, her foster mom has successfully driven her short distances.    Cedar loves cuddling on the sofa and watching TV with her foster mom and canine foster siblings, but sometimes, feeling more independent, she'll find a spot by herself. Also, she loves exploring in the backyard, so a securely fenced yard is a must and a dog door even better. While she doesn't often play with them, Cedar gets along with the other five dogs in her foster home, following their lead, cuddling with them, and seemingly feeling safer around them. She would probably do best living with at least one other gentle dog. While certain house manners could use some polishing (e.g. standing on the coffee table) and she may always be a little skittish, she's a joy to have and cute as a button. See more photos of Cedar at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/cedar .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Fill out an application at https://brokenheartsrescue.wixsite.com/mysite NOT AT ADOPT-A-PET. Meet Charlie, the brave and resilient dog in search of a hero. Charlie's journey hasn't been easy, but he is ready for a fresh start with someone who is willing to give him a chance. This special pup requires a patient and quiet home, where people are present most of the time due to his lack of socialization. Charlie would thrive in an environment without children, although he is comfortable with cats. To help Charlie overcome his fears of being left alone, he would benefit from the companionship of a grounded dog who can guide him on his path to confidence. Once he feels at ease, Charlie's wiggly nature shines through as he joyfully engages in playtime with stuffies and other furry friends. His energy level is moderate during playtime, striking the perfect balance. Charlie is fully potty trained and sleeps soundly in his crate at night. However, he still harbors apprehensions about car rides and strangers. Once he warms up to you, he transforms into the biggest cuddle bug, showering you with kisses and using his paws like little hands to try and open doors and explore his surroundings. His love for treats makes training an enjoyable process, and his progress is evident when he is comfortable and his guard is down. If you are ready to open your heart and home to an amazing dog, Charlie is eagerly waiting for the opportunity to be by your side, offering unconditional love and loyalty. Together, you can embark on a wonderful journey of trust, growth, and companionship.

Story
Parker is looking for a human who is a homebody with a hankering for some canine companionship. Parker is a great little dog if he doesn't have to meet new people. He's the type of dog who throws his wholehearted devotion to his main person(s) whoever they may be. This almost 7-year-old rat terrier is a joy when his world is predictably small and where exposure to new things and people is limited. However, pushed too far out of his comfort zone, Parker will bite first and ask questions later.   Parker's perfect world would contain no surprises. A home with children would not work for him. While he happily lives with five other small dogs in his foster home, he's still reactive to strange dogs. He might like having a canine sibling close to his size (15.5 lbs.), but he would need time to acclimate to a new dog. Because he can play rough, any playmate should be sturdy, preferably male. Parker's prey drive is so high that he even hunts down bugs. Therefore, he shouldn't live with any small pets that he might consider prey. A home with few visitors in a quiet, rural setting would be ideal. He enjoys walks in nice weather and loves exploring his yard, so a fenced area is essential. At night, he sleeps in his crate, and he's house-trained (with outdoor access using a dog door), so he can have free rein indoors during the day. However, he doesn't like to be left alone at home.   When he feels completely secure, Parker is a  sweet, loving boy, who just wants to please. He loves playing, taking car rides, and settling into your lap. To help Parker cope with the stresses of everyday life, his foster mom has sought professional guidance. Parker takes anti-anxiety medication (cost = $4/month) to help him better focus on training to handle incremental introductions to change. Check out his online photo album at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/parker . Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old.
