Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This little lady is Reyluna, or LuLu. She is a quiet and friendly dog!  She loves to jump up on your lap so you can pet her soft fur! She loves her blanket and will move it exactly where she wants it so she is comfy and cozy.  She even will take the blanket and cover herself up-it's SO cute! She is playful and affectionate and a little bit goofy.  She loves attention and always paying you back with love! She is just looking for her new place to crash. Might that be with you? Reyluna is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can   donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 15, 2024, 9:39 am

SOOOOOO how many people remember Starsky and Hutch?? Probably not too many! But if you DO, please don't prejudice us with the "wildness" of our namesakes'! OK, we are a LITTLE wild and cute cute cute! Found in a neighborhood together at about 2-3 months old, we could have had a very different life.... however, we were found by a couple of high school boys who immediately drove us to the rescue to see if they would help at 5pm on a Friday evening. AND IT WORKED!!! We are a couple of cute boys, we are barkers and that is part of the breed- Rat Terriers are busy and smart and active and they bark! We are cute when we bark though :) We do not have to be adopted together, although we love each other and have been together our WHOLE lives.... but we can be adopted apart. We may be nervous at first if adopted separately but if you follow the 3/3/3 rule, it will take us time to adjust in our new home anyway!! (you will find a copy of the 3/3/3 rules in our medical record if you adopt one or both of us) We are waiting for the right family/families to come along and we hope that we find you or you find us soooonnnnn!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Snapshot of Bolt: Size? Shmedium (I'm bigger than a small dog but leaner than a medium dog!) Activity Level? I LOVE to play and run around. But also have a cuddly side! Noise Level? I'm pretty quiet unless I need something or the other dogs are barking. Good with Dogs? Yes! Good with Cats? Yes! Good with Kids? Yes! But I might knock them down if I get really excited. Good with Strangers? I love everyone! Potty Trained? I need a little time to adjust. But then I'm a pro! Crate Trained? I don't really like my crate. Shedding? Minimal About Bolt: Hi there! My name is Bolt and yes, the name fits my personality! Much like the dog from the 2008 movie of my namesake, I believe that I'm a superhero. I may be small, but I wrestle my 60 pound friends with a gusto far exceeding my size. I came to TCPR after I found myself at local animal control and no humans came to get me. I'm a really great guy so I'm not sure why nobody came to get me. But I have been loving my time at TCPR! I'm still technically an older puppy so I have the energy of an energizer bunny but I'm potty trained! I currently live with other dogs, cats, and kids. I love EVERYONE! Chasing the dogs around the yard and then eventually wrestling with them when we've grown bored of running is my FAVORITE thing! I also love nyla bones, stuffies (without the stuffing because my foster mom prefers that I don't throw stuffing everywhere), Kong toys with peanut butter. They help keep me busy when the other dogs want a nap but I still want to play. I mostly ignore the cats in my foster home unless I'm overflowing with energy. I'll try to plan with them and then they hiss and I back off. The kids are great and I want them to throw a ball or pet me anytime they get the chance. But I can sometimes knock them over if I run by them really fast. My adult foster parents keep a close eye on me when we're all running around! I also try to run out the front door sometimes so its important that my humans keep a close eye on me when they're entering and exiting too! Eventually I get my energy out and will snuggle up with my humans while they lounge on the couch. I'm a total cuddle bug when I'm not trying to run or play! I do well in the car and sleep contentedly in my crate at night. While I don't like to be crated when my people leave, I've learned that I get delicious treats when they go! I whine a little, but it doesn't last long, especially when I see that the other dogs are still with me. I'm making strides and getting used to it. I really enjoy my daily walk and am still practicing my etiquette on a leash. I know my perfect person or family is out there, and I'm so excited for a second chance. My ideal family would be active, have another playful dog, and will be patient with me while I settle into my new home and routine. I would love someone who could teach me to walk better on a leash (I pull a little, but its nothing crazy!) so we could go on long walks or hikes! I would make the perfect companion for someone who is looking to add a second (or third!) dog to their active lifestyle. Bolt is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Adoption Fee: $550 + applicable tax MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "adopt me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Benita! This sweet and cuddly pup dreams of having her very own special spot on the couch, right next to you. Benita is kennel trained and enjoys taking her meals and high-value treats in her cozy space. She’s also leash trained and absolutely loves car rides, making her the perfect travel companion! Bonus points, she is potty trained as well.  While Benita might be a little cautious when meeting new people, she warms up quickly and reveals her loving, sweet, and playful nature. We adore her immensely and know you will too! She would thrive in a home with kids or other dogs due to her playful spirit. If you think you have the perfect spot in your heart and home for this little sweetheart, please fill out an adoption application today. Benita is ready to bring joy to your life! One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.   Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
