Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application Maybelline came with her baby. Baby was adopted.  She is a quirky dog,  typical Jack Russell type,  she gets along with other dogs but needs a few days to get to like the new dog as she feels she is queen bee.   She is very active, loves running around and playing with toys and other dogs, not really great with cats or small animals,  typical rat terrier jack russell.  Would do great with other Jacks or Rat Terriers or alone as well but needs time to adjust to new surrounding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2024, 1:31 pm

Story
Imagine, if you can, a country girl version of Paris Hilton, and that would be OUR gal, Paris! This blonde, 6-month-old mix of Rat Terrier and Black Mouth Cur, weighs a slim 35 pounds and will be a medium size when mature. She has long legs and beautiful eyes. Instead of strutting the catwalk, she’s running through the woods and checking out nature. Paris is very approachable and loves everyone she meets, (humans and canines), so she’d happily pose for a photo and autograph. She would easily settle in to family or single life but be advised…her lovely face and sweet personality may attract a lot of attention! (6/13/24, R)    **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  August 18, 2024, 2:19 pm

Story
Bailey (born 6/20/2015) is an 8-year-old, 14 pound, housebroken, Rat Terrier mix. Because Bailey came from an abuse situation, he has trust issues. If you want to adopt him, you would need to visit with Bailey a few times to become friends and gain his trust. The deal here is that Bailey needs to know you before he can trust you. Once Bailey knows you, he is a very affectionate and loyal friend, but he will also be protective – so he needs to know that you will be the one to protect him. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Bailey, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you! For additional information on the Humane Society of New York, please visit: humanesocietyny.org. Thank you!
