Story
She is a beautiful and loving dog. I have had dogs all my life and have never had a hard time house training. I work from home but can't get up from my desk once I clock in. I let her out often and she goes. Then she comes inside and poops or pees in the floor. She needs more attention than I can give her. I don't feel good crating her or leaving her outside all the time. She is almost a year old and at least twice or more a week she uses the bathroom inside. I am at my wits end and know I do not have time she needs one on one apparently to get her to stop doing it.

Story
I have a Rat Terrier/mix that I need to re-home. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. The vet says he's approximately 4-5 months old and weighs 17 pounds. He is a great dog and loves everyone including kids. He gets along with other dogs and even cats. He's very sweet and affectionate. I really hate having to re-home him, but we have a 5 pound chihuahua that is not taking to him. The dog is very playful and because he's so much bigger than our chihuahua, he can try to play a little too rough with her and we're afraid he'll accidentally hurt her. He's not at all mean. Just an energetic, playful puppy. The vet said he is in excellent health. He is potty pad trained and learns commands quickly. I am asking a small re-homing fee just to try and offset some of the money we spent at the vet.

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   pre rescue tattooDate into Rescue: 5/10/2023 Reason for being in rescue: owner release Foster location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC Special Needs? Trixie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 5/11/23 she had a dental with 11 extractions. Weight: 9.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No, but she would love one What kind of home would be best for me? While we know very little about Trixie's life pre-rescue, we know that she has always lived with other dogs and she has clearly known human affection. Though shy at first, she loves the people she knows and trusts. Trixie could be happy as the only dog of someone home during the day and looking for a go everywhere companion. She would also be happy with another active dog to learn from and play with. Trixie will benefit from training and exposure to new environments. She has likely never lived with children. What is my personality like? Trixie was seized by animal control along with 8 other dogs and landed at an animal shelter. Her owner had moved away and left her dogs behind. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter. We have no background on what her life may have been like before arriving in rescue. Trixie is an estimated 6 year old female Rat Terrier who is seeking a home in which she can love wholeheartedly for the rest of her life. Trixie needs some time to settle into a new environment, as she gets nervous in a new setting. Once she has had a bit of time to settle in, get comfortable and relax, she quickly opens up into a wonderful companion. Once comfortable, Trixie wants to be with her favorite humans and wants to do everything that they do. She loves being by your side and will go anywhere and do anything out of the pure loyalty she possesses. Sometimes, you can catch Trixie romping about and initiating play with her friends, while other times she is right by your side taking every step you take. Trixie is very affectionate and seeks attention when she realizes she can trust you and can confide in you. This sweet girl would go to the moon and back just to be with her favorite people that she loves the most. How do I act when I first meet new people? Trixie can be shy when meeting new people. She loves people, but is not completely trusting of new faces. Once comfortable, Trixie wants to be with her favorite humans and wants to do everything that they do.  Other tips and tidbits: Trixie is estimated at 6 years old. We have no records from her pre-rescue life. We celebrate her birthday as 5/2/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. August 19, 2024, 4:37 pm
