Story
Hey! Look at me! My name is Balto. I’m looking for my furever home. We could be a match if you are looking for a gentle and a bit bigger boy. I’m 100% American Foxhound according to my DNA test! Do you like going for walks? I love going for walks. I really NEED a fenced yard to run and explore or sunbathe. Eating is one of my favorite activities I’ll take treats gently from your hand. I also know to go potty outside. My foster fur brothers and I get along fine. Cats will catch my attention when I spot them, but my foster mom doesn’t know if we would be good buddies. I like when the kids in the neighborhood want to pet me. Not that I would aim to, but weighing in at 55 pounds, I might knock little ones over if I bump them, but I don’t jump up on humans. The sofa is a favorite place to lie next to you and while I chew on my Benny Bone. Sometimes, I sleep there and sometimes I use my dog bed. My foster mom says that I’m the sweetest boy. The neighbor thinks I have a wonderful voice. Foster mom calls me a “woo dog” because I woo when I bark. And I sometimes have this little squeak. Foster mom told me I need to be oiled. I think she was kidding. They think I’m about seven years old. With insurance being so high, I got rid of the family jewels. I’ve had all my shots and am heartworm negative. Yay! If you think we would be a good match and want a new bff, complete an application by clicking on https://www.saveourcockerspaniels.org/foster-adoption-application. SOCKS adopts to families in Florida, Georgia, Southern Alabama and southeastern Mississippi. If you are out of the state of Florida, you would need to travel to Florida to complete your adoption. Please note that we do check vet references and your current pets must be up to date on vaccinations and heartworm testing. Please be able to provide proof of purchase of heartworm prevention. All dogs and cats in your home must be spayed or neutered. We will not set up a meet and greet until your application has been received, reviewed, and approved. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. We will accept applications and then screen all and choose the best match. Only approved applicants will be contacted.
