Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
This is Red, he is 4, born Jan 11, 2021. We got Red in Greenville, South Carolina from a hunter who was breeding his redbones but not registering them. We've never had to do this before, we've had several large dogs that we've kept until they passed away at almost 14 years old. Because of medical problems we just can't keep him. He doesn't jump on people, he is sweet and loving. All the neighborhood kids come to the fence, pet him and love on him. He plays with our 8 lb dog and our 12-year-old Blue Tick, both female, they are both spayed and he is neutered. He has regularly been around small children with no issues. Anyone who's had a red bone can imagine how hard this is for us, this was my husband's dream dog and we love him so much but he is not getting the love and attention he deserves.

Story
"Mabel" and her litter of 7 pups were found abandoned in rural Tennessee at the end of February 2025. She was extremely thin, and clearly not getting enough food or water to provide for the pups, so all 8 dogs were brought back to Ohio for care and to find homes. Mabel was seen at the veterinarian's office with the pups for an 8-week check-up in late March, and was in good health except for a hernia, which may need surgery. Her age is unknown, but estimated to be between 1 and 3 years old. She currently weighs around 55 pounds. She is house-trained, easy on a leash, takes treats gently, and obeys some commands. A home with a fenced yard would be recommended. It's not certain how she would respond to cats. Mabel is a very loving and sweet dog. I would keep her, but my own dog has been with a family member for 6 weeks while I have cared for Mabel and the pups. A DNA test on one of the pups indicate over 46% match for Redbone Coonhound, so she could be very close to purebred.
