Story
Chorizo was brought to us as a "stray" by his owner, and has unfortunately been passed from home to home. But he is ready to put that all behind him and find his furever family! Chorizo can be a little shy with new people, but he warms up quickly and would love to be your new buddy. Chorizo is a pretty laid back guy who loves to be outside, so he would love a home with a big yard to follow his hound nose around in! Chorizo would prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can have all your love to himself. If you are interested in meeting Chorizo, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. August 18, 2024, 1:36 pm

Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
