Story
Say hello to happy-go-lucky Waylen! This happy hound boy was brought to us as a stray and is looking for a home to call his own! Waylen is a very talkative pup, and loves to run around the yard to play or sniff. He will need some work on his leash manners as he gets very excited when he is out and about and tends to pull on the leash. He does significantly better when on a harness and would do best walking on that compared to a collar. Waylen is very treat motivated, and very smart and will be excited to learn more with a patient owner! At this time Waylen knows sit, paw with both feet, and down! His favorite toy has been anything that makes noises and that he can chase around the yard! Waylen has been picky with the dogs he befriends and would do better as the only dog in the home or with a calm, non-reactive dog. He is very interested in cats, and may not be the best fit for any feline friends. This happy boy has done amazing with kids! He is very respectful and gentle with children of all sizes and would not mind having young human friends in his forever home! If you would like to meet Waylen and potentially welcome him into your home, stop by and visit with him today! Waylen is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. August 18, 2024, 1:36 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact nancybethc@comcast.net for more information about this pet.All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Hounds! Such wonderful, loving, goofy dogs. And here is Hank, sweet right down to his red feet. How could he ever have made it into a rescue and not be beloved by his family? Well, Hank was born into a hunting family , but he refused to hunt. He didn't want to hurt any other animal! So, sweetness or not, he had to go. Here is what his foster has to say about him; 'Hank, low key calm guy. Not bothered by other dogs at all. Doesn’t seem to have much of a prey drive.' He just wants to be a good ole boy and be loved. Because he is a hound, we are asking that his adopter have a physical fence to keep his nose from following any special scents. Hank alos needs another friendly dog to help him get comfortable in his new home. We have made sure he has all his shots , so he is ready to be your own special boy. He promises to make you laugh when he runs about in your backyard or on a walk with those big ears flapping in the breeze. Ready for fun? Hank is your guy!   If you are interested in Hank, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2024, 2:58 pm

He is extremely sweet-tempered but needs more exercise and training than we can currently give him. He has a lot of hound in him and seems like he wants to work and run. Banjo is super friendly with other dogs and loves to play. He would love another dog sibling and a we believe he would do best with a big fenced yard or large outdoor securely enclosed property. He is known to be somewhat of an escape artist, a true hound. When he isn’t running around outside he does like to chill and lay around. Not sure how he would do with cats or livestock. If you are interested in adopting Banjo, please contact:Amanda Paige  email: amandacruzado13@gmail.com Phone: 7033045080Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2024, 2:58 pm

Story
Ranger, approximately 1 year old and 35 pounds, is a people-friendly pup who enjoys the company of kids, even as young as 9. He plays harmoniously with dogs of various ages and sizes, ranging from 1 to 11 years old and 30 to 125 pounds. While not particularly interested in the barn cat, his compatibility with household cats is uncertain. Accustomed to cattle and horses, he generally ignores them. Overnight, he comfortably sleeps in his crate, displaying affection for it. Together with his brother, they relish porch swing evenings, engaging in activities like chasing balls and wrestling. Ranger understands basic commands but requires some leash and recall training, typical of a puppy. His strong hound instincts make him motivated by treats, and he's a resilient survivor, rescued in Texas after being abandoned. Ideally, he and his brother find a home together, but separate adoptions are also possible. He’s anxiously awaiting transport from Texas to his furever or foster home up north!  DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).  Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.
