Story
We worked very hard to keep Cowboy in our home, but it seems our household is too anxious for him with our young kids. We brought in an experienced behaviorist, who informed us he presents as a “back of the pack” breed who lacks confidence. He needs a lot of attention and exercise with someone who understands lead leash training and the behaviors that come with a working dog breed. He did bit through my husbands lip at 2 months old resulting in stitches. He is very food motivated and was upset he was removed from human food. He doesn’t do well soft younger children and tries to heard them and nip. He does listen to some commands well and is trainable if the work is done correctly. He is also kennel trained at night and anytime we leave the house. We are willing to negotiate price as we just want him to find a good and loving home!

Story
Rufus is looking for a foster and even better a forever home! Please email eaplevergreen@eapl.com if you can foster him.   Meet Rufus, aka "Roof the Goof" - a strikingly handsome chocolate-colored dog with a sleek, low-shedding coat and captivating honey eyes.  He was born on 9/29/18.  Rufus is about 60 pounds, a gentle soul and tender-hearted love bug at his core. He's a very good boy who longs for daily sofa snuggle time and to shower his forever family with unconditional love and affection. Rufus is an ideal household companion - he's perfectly housebroken, sleeps quietly through the night, and doesn't engage in any destructive behavior. He can be high-energy for 10 or 15 minutes at a time, but mostly wants to follow you around or cuddle.  Rufus knows basic commands like sit, stay, and lay down, and rides well in the car. While his leash manners are usually excellent, he can get overly excited and pull if he spots a bunny or squirrel. He is dog selective, however, so he can't get his exercise in an off-leash dog park. In his forever home, Rufus would thrive in a household with or without children, but preferably without other dogs or cats. He's an adventurous pup who would make an amazing hiking, running, or biking companion for an active family or individual. Though he may come across as a bit strong initially, Rufus quickly settles in and becomes the life of the party with his fun-loving, ham-like personality. Rufus has undergone extensive training, and his new family can take advantage of a free session to learn the best techniques for managing his occasional overexcitement. He's loyal, loving, and ready to find his forever home. Visit  eapl.com  to fill out an adoption application - Rufus' adoption fee is $375.  March 23, 2025, 3:58 pm

Story
Meet Buddy Bear.  This handsome boy is looking for his furever home. Buddy Bear is a 65#s est bd is 2/15/23 best guess is a Catahoula Leopard/Great Dane mix. He’s a love bug who would like nothing better than to lean on you while enjoying his day. Buddy has a very chill demeanor – watching the yard from the deck, lounging in his crate – until his teenage spirit kicks in. He picks up new tricks very quickly, is highly motivated by treats, and loves his routines. He has lots of energy and would do well in a home that can keep him active. When he’s not playing or following you closely, he is completely content to be left with a cozy bed or a good watch tower position of your yard. He likes to watch the world and have his people near him. Underneath all the teenage behavior is a gentle soul with a huge loving heart. He wants nothing other than to be part of a loving family and love them back!  He’s learned to sit, stay, lay down, and shake, and is currently working on his leash manners. Since he is still adjusting to Colorado and its amazing wildlife, he is unfamiliar with deer and elk and will try to chase them. Consequently, a stout fence or dog run will be a necessity.  Buddy Bear would do best with an experienced dog family who can continue training him and working on his manners. He loves all people and other dogs and plays well with his foster family’s Catahoula. Since he doesn’t know his own size/strength he would do best with other dogs his size or larger. A family with teenagers or active adults would be ideal for this lovable lug.  His adoption fee is $375 Put in an application at eapl.comApril 1, 2025, 10:46 am
