Story
Hi-My name is Ryka and I'm a Diamond Dog. Please ask about the special perks that come with my adoption. I LIKE: treats more than toys but I love a good massage. Ear scratches and belly rubs are good too.I KNOW: I'm an excellent walker and I sit politely for a treat. I'm a little older now so with me you don't have to worry about your furniture or floors. I'm past all that crazy puppy stuff.IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR: someone mature with a calm nature, that's me!I AM SPECIAL BECAUSE: I like to sniff and explore but I will always come back to you for some love.SOMETHING ABOUT MY PAST: I have lived with other dogs but not kids, I think they like me though. In my previous home, I was trusted to be left alone and had free roam. I like the pool and beach but I don't like cats. I know how to give a high five too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ATTN: LE/Military Veterans!! Dirty Harry is ready for his forever home!! This nine month old pup is an incredible dog and would be perfect for a military veteran and his/her family. Harry should go to a family with older kids as well!! We have a number of military and LE personnel In our rescue and we are always very cautious with any of our rescue dogs to discuss or recommend whether a dog could be a service dog or an emotional support dog. We do not take that recommendation very lightly. But in this case we feel Harry is exceptional and we are putting the word out!! Harry is an extremely calm pup for his age and has an amazing temperament!! He absolutely loves all people, but especially men and older kids and is very in tune with his family. We honestly feel he is meant for something bigger than us and for someone very special. When Harry came to us, he was fairly dirty from being outside and he constantly submissive peed upon meeting new people. We were told the reason he was being given up was because left on his own during the day, with only the other dogs in the household for company, he was bored and was chasing the family’s chickens when they were away from the household. Harry was originally found abandoned with his hound mix mom. We believe he is also part Rhodesian Ridgeback. During his rescue intake evaluation, what we immediately noticed was his sweet disposition, his unique gentleness for such a young large pup, and his amazing soul searching eye contact. Although we do not doubt that there had been some mishaps in his past, we feel that it was much more a young pup being bored. With the love and attention given by one of our newest fosters Tara Bridges and her family, Harry has reached the confidence levels we so knew he could!! He easily integrated into their family with 2 larger dogs. If you would like this amazing dog to be an integral part of your life, please fill out an application for him at 4LuckyDogs.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 6:06 pm

* SPECIAL NEEDS - STRANGER DANGER * Do you have a pool in need of a swimmer? Mila would love to help you out with that. Swim, swim, swim and an occasional car ride makes Mila a happy girl. Her favorite volunteer has become her Woof Pack leader taking her home for an afternoon most weekends to enjoy pool time, learn some basic social skills and be introduced to the outside world. Mila loves you unconditionally once you're in her circle of friends but it does take a few introductions for her to trust you are one of the friendly ones. Mila would be best as the only 4-legged member of the family in an adult-only home. For an appointment to meet her, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslatresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

Story
If you're looking for a chill senior dog to hang with and be your number 1 companion and best friend, look no further - Kelly is the girl for you! Kelly has spent a number of years at Satchel's and recently went into a foster home to see how she would deal with life in a home. She settled into the home like she'd lived there her entire life and was the perfect house guest. Kelly loves meeting new people and getting belly rubs and kisses from everyone she sees on her walks. She walks well on leash, knows all basic commands and is very obedient. Car rides are one of her favorite outings (doesn't matter where to). She sits nicely as the co-pilot or will lay down in the back depending where you tell her to go. She doesn't much care for other four-legged beings and would prefer to be the only one in the home. For an appointment to meet Kelly, please submit the adoption application at satchelslastresort.org and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
A shy and cautious boy, our handsome Kricket is learning to explore the world again one paw at a time. He may come up to you with worried eyes, but with a bit of encouragement and possibly a tasty treat, becomes a friend quickly. He has been meeting new people almost every day, going on walks or spending some one-on-one time in the yards. He is a wonderful walker and great on the leash, though if spooked, tends to pull back to home base. He has done pretty well with some canine buddies, and prefers a calmer friend to spend time with. He can be quite the comedian at times, with his different facial expressions and unwillingness to participate in unwanted activities. He is a fan of toys, but always prefers a friend on the other end. When he is comfortable, Kricket will show a smirking smile, sneak in a few kisses and a happy wagging tail. He is a very sweet boy underneath that spotty coat of his, and with patience and encouragement will be able to expand his horizons. If you are looking for a friend to share new experiences with, but still like a cozy day in, Kricket would love to meet you! For an appointment to meet Kricket, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
