Story
Meet Jubilee—a tender-hearted soul with a sweet spirit and a tail that never stops wagging. When she first arrived, she wasn’t quite sure what to make of the leash, but she still greeted everyone with gentle kisses, soft eyes, and a quiet openness that says, *“I’m trying my best.”* That’s Jubilee—earnest, affectionate, and full of potential, just waiting for the right person to help her feel safe and seen. She may have been unsure of her surroundings, but not once did she stop offering love. She leans into gentle pets, rests her head in your hands, and tries so hard to understand what’s being asked of her. Jubilee is one of those dogs who will quietly change your life—by showing you how powerful patience, kindness, and trust can be. What an opportunity, not just to adopt a dog, but to grow with one. Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.

Story
Mystique is a gentle soul with the kind of heart you can’t help but root for. She came to us unsure of her new surroundings, wagging her tail low, offering sweet licks, and tilting her head with the kind of shy, submissive smile that says, “I want to trust you—I just need a moment.” While leashing can still be a little spooky for her, once outside, Mystique blossoms. She lights up in the sunshine, leans in for affection, and shows you just how lovely and kind she really is. Mystique would do well in a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace and continue discovering how good life can be. She’s not flashy, but she is unforgettable—the kind of quiet, loyal friend who’ll stay by your side once she knows she’s safe.

Story
Chief is a sensitive soul who’s still figuring out how to trust the world again. Underneath his sad eyes and tucked tail is a dog who truly *wants* connection—he’s just not sure how to ask for it. When he first arrived at the shelter, Chief was overwhelmed and unsure, freezing up during his medical exam and flinching at the unfamiliar. But with patience, soft voices, and gentle hands, he’s already shown that he’s willing to lean in—literally—for affection. In the office, he walked up calmly, accepted pets, and when they stopped, he came in closer, quietly asking for more. Chief is looking for a home that understands fear doesn`t make a dog bad—it just means he needs a little extra love. He may do best in a quiet environment where he can feel safe and decompress. Once he knows you`re his person, Chief is the kind of dog who will be endlessly loyal. He`s not looking for a fast-paced lifestyle—just someone who sees his worth and is willing to meet him where he is. With time, Chief won’t just come out of his shell—he’ll show you a heart as big as they come.

Story
Lady is a resilient sweetheart with a playful streak and a heart that’s ready to heal. When she first arrived, she wasn’t sure what to make of us—but after a quick pause to assess the situation, she was running over for treats, asking for pets, and trying to play with toys like we’d been friends all along. She walks well on a leash (though she pulls like she’s late for a party) and would benefit from a comfy harness while a neck injury continues to heal. At the shelter, Lady has been friendly, food-motivated, and eager for affection. She’s shown some tension around other dogs and may do best with slow introductions or as your one-and-only. She’s got plenty of love to give and would thrive with someone who can offer patience, playtime, and a cozy place to land. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a little spark, Lady might just be your girl.

Jaxon`s Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & GreetCats - Not for JaxonKids - Yes, 14+Meet Jaxon, a fun-loving and affectionate dog who’s ready to be your best friend! Surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him, Jaxon is eager to start fresh with a family who will appreciate his playful spirit and loving nature. Jaxon is a sweet boy who loves his humans and takes treats ever so gently. This energetic pup is a blast to be around, and while he can get a bit mouthy during play, a simple “no biting” is all it takes for him to settle down and keep the fun going. He’s a little choosy with other dogs, so he’d do best in a home where introductions are done slowly, and he’d be happiest with teens aged 14 and up and no cats. Jaxon is ready to bring his lovable energy and affection to a new home—could it be with you? Come meet him today and let this sweet boy steal your heart!-----Adoption Fees & Benefits:Under 1 year: $2001-4 years: $1005-9 years: $5510+ years: $35Fees include: Heartworm test (age appropriate), vaccinations, flea/tick preventative, complimentary bag of food, wellness exam, and rabies vaccine.Important Notice: A `meet and greet` with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Meet Corbin – Your Laid-Back Best Friend! Corbin is a 6-year-old, 67lb Black Mouth Cur and Pitbull mix with a heart as big as his adorable floppy ears. He’s been thriving in his foster home and is ready to find his forever family! Corbin is  neutered, house-trained, and crate-trained —a total gentleman around the house. He quickly learns routines and is respectful of household boundaries. A  calm and easygoing  companion, Corbin rarely jumps on people or barks. He enjoys leisurely walks with plenty of sniffing time and loves a good game of fetch, especially with a frisbee or his favorite stuffies. His ideal day? About 8 hours of napping, 8 hours of sleeping, and 8 hours filled with walks, peanut butter treats, and a toy (or two) to deconstruct. Corbin’s  beautiful golden coat ,  gentle personality , and  excellent crate manners  earn him lots of compliments! While his foster home doesn’t have other pets or kids, he’s done well with kids 4+ and dogs his size in other settings. His experience with cats, small children, or small dogs is unknown. He’s a homebody at heart—while car rides aren’t his favorite (motion sickness is manageable with an antacid), he loves hanging out with his people. He’s not a big snuggler but enjoys being in the same room as his family. He welcomes head scratches from everyone and belly rubs from his favorite people. Corbin’s foster family adores him and knows he’ll make a wonderful companion. Could he be the perfect match for you?
