Story
Marley is a big, lovable girl who came into our care after her previous owner could no longer care for her. Though she may be cautious around new people at first, Marley warms up quickly and becomes incredibly sweet with her trusted humans. She loves to jump up and give lots of kisses and enjoys quiet time cuddling next to you once she's gotten her wiggles out.Marley thrives on being around her people and prefers to eat in their company. She can be vocal when left alone, so she'd do best in a home where she has company most of the time. Marley enjoys walks and loves sniffing around the yard.Due to her sensitivity with touch on her hind end and possible early stages of arthritis, Marley's new home should be prepared to help her live comfortably with these needs. She's also on a special diet to help her lose weight.Marley isn't very fond of other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home. Because of her size and tendency to jump, she'd be best suited for a home without small children. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who loves to be around her people, Marley might be the perfect match for you!Do you think you could be Marley's person? Here are some ways to find out: Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person;or Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs. Story
Introducing Selena, a shy yet sweet-natured pup who's looking for a patient and understanding family to call her own. While she may be timid around new people and situations, Selena's loving heart and playful spirit shine brightly once she feels safe and secure. She is also a cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to curl up next to you on the couch. Selena requires guidance with leash training, house training, and manners. While she may need extra patience and understanding due to her shyness, Selena is eager to learn and please her adoptive family. Consistent training and positive reinforcement techniques will help her build confidence and become a well-behaved companion. We recommend slow introductions and supervised interactions to help Selena develop positive relationships with new dogs and build her confidence while other pups are around. She would not be best suited for a home with other canine friends. Selena may be nervous around new people and situations, requiring slow introductions. While she may eventually warm up to new friends, Selena's shy nature makes her best suited for a home without young children. With patience and understanding, Selena will gradually overcome her fears and form deep bonds with her adoptive family. The first step to take me home and meet me is to fill out the application below!Dog adoption meets are by appointment only and may not be accommodated on a walk in basis. https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-abbotsford/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 39.1 Age: 1yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
Rose is a very special girl. She came to us as a stray that was in need of some serious help. She had no ID for us to trace and she was never claimed by anyone. She arrived in our care with a very bad skin condition. She had scratched herself raw in places that and she was terribly uncomfortable. We had Rose vetted right away to get her some relief from the intense itchiness she was suffering from. The vets realized right away that she had been suffering from allergies that weren't address for a long time, causing a major secondary skin infection. Since receiving medical attention, Rose's skin and coat have hugely improved, revealing her vibrant and playful personality. She delights in engaging with toys and enthusiastically participates in games of tug-of-war with our staff, albeit sometimes with a bit too much gusto, leading to occasional toy destruction. While Rose has encountered many dogs during her time with us and generally tolerates their presence, she may react defensively if approached aggressively. Her compatibility with cats remains unknown, but her inclination to chase may suggest a less-than-ideal match. To manage her allergies, Rose is currently on a hypoallergenic diet and requires ongoing medication prescribed by our veterinarians. Despite these needs, Rose's affectionate nature and lively spirit make her a cherished companion for the right family willing to provide her with the care and attention she deserves.Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Rose's person?
