Story
What we know about Quinn: Approx 5 years old Female (spayed) 85lbs (she does need to lose about 5-10lbs) HW+, but has completed fast kill HW treatment her last injection was 4/18/24. She will be retested for HW in 6 months (NKGC will cover this) She is also on monthly HW prevention. UTD on shots On flea/tick preventative House trained Crate trained Dog friendly (she’s been in homes with both large and smaller (25-30lb) dogs) Has met a few older children and does great with them! Walks great on a leash NO CATS OR OTHER SMALL CRITTERS Quinn is the SWEETEST GIRL! She LOVES people and loves getting attention from people. This girl has been through so much! She was brought into our local animal control after being hit by a car. That’s when they called us, No Kill Glynn County, to save her. One of her back legs was severely broken and out of the socket at the hip. She has had surgery on both her hip and her knee, both of which were successful, and while she does have a different “gait” than most dogs, she moves around well and has been medically cleared from that surgery! During that surgery, we discovered that she also had been shot as she has a bunch of BBs embedded in her head/neck and chest area. We have been told to leave those as they are not causing her any pain or issue. We only tell you, so you can better understand her story and when you are petting her, sometimes you will feel a BB. You can also see in some of her pictures that part of Quinn’s head is mis-shaped. This has also been looked at and deemed not an issue for her. This likely comes from blunt force trauma to the head, likely when she was hit by the car. This does not hurt her, not does it cause her any kind of issues, all it does is make her more unique. For a dog who has been through so much trauma in her life… you’d never know it. She is the sweetest and most loving dog. She is not a dog that is going to be someone’s running buddy, or hiking buddy, just because of the trauma from being hit by a car. But if you are looking for a best friend, a cuddle buddy, or a low-key adventure buddy, she is the perfect dog for you! You can always send us an email with any questions nkgcdogfoster@gmail.com

Story
Roxy is a rescue found emaciated and tied to the Axel of a lawn mower. She's come a long way in the six months since we found her. We feel like she is ready to find her forever family. She really would love nothing more just to sit at your feet and be pet. She snuggles her head right on your lap and gives you those big dewy eyes. She loves being brushed also. She is potty trained, but will have an accident if not let out to do her dooty. She is eager to learn more obedience commands. Please open your home and heart to this big teddy bear. (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Story
Rhea was adopted in 2018 as a puppy, but surrendered by her adopters. This is a head scratcher for us, as she did great with everyone for 4 years. She was adopted again and has now been surrendered again. What is going on with this poor girl? Rhea's intake form states that she is good with children, but had an issue with one teenager. It also states that she is housebroken and crate trained, but can be destructive if left alone unsupervised and uncrated. Rhea has done well with other dogs and although more than willing to chase the cats, has yet to actually hurt one. It sounds as though she may have scared a life or two out of them, though! Rhea is understandably nervous about losing her home and being in a shelter after living and bonding with a family. She absolutely needs some stability in her life. Rhea has a lot of positives as she is housebroken and crate trained. She also knows several commands such as sit, come, no, leave it and shake. Rhea has a medium energy level and is such a sweet girl! Come and meet her for yourself and decide if she is right for you. Email reception@hsscg.org for an appointment or more information. We would love for you to stop by Tuesday through Saturday 11 to 4. Rhea is spayed, microchipped, current on core vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms. This big girl is really missing her home. Come show her some love!

Story
This pretty young girl was found as a stray, but her finders were unable to locate anyone to claim her. After a few weeks with no success, they decided to bring her in and find her a new home. Giselle is a very sweet dog with an affectionate personality. She can be very choosy about her friends when it comes to other dog. A meet and greet would be a requirement unless she is the only princess in the house. Although we aren't sure if she is housetrained or crate trained, Giselle is definitely eager to please. We believe it's a skill she would learn quickly. Giselle may be a bully mix, but she is definitely not a bully! She is a sweet and gentle girl with people. Email reception@hsscg.org for more information or an appointment, or just come on in. We are open 11 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday. Giselle is spayed, microchipped, and current on core vaccines. Although she was heartworm positive on arrival, Giselle has been treated here by our medical team. She is now available for adoption. We would love to see her find a loving home, as she has been here for almost 6 months.
