She's an energetic, playful companion who loves the company of other dogs. Her playful nature is infectious, spreading joy to everyone around her. However, Dixie prefers the company of larger companions and would do best in a home without cats or small children. She's an intelligent, trainable dog who would thrive with an owner willing to invest time in her. Dixie's vibrant personality and love for play make her a wonderful potential addition to a family. She's waiting for a home where she can share her boundless love and enthusiasm.   Dixie is spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Story
Meet Maggie (formerly Darla) - a bundle of joy wrapped in fur! Maggie came to us skin and bones, and her original name didn’t quite fit her vibrant personality, so we decided on Magnolia, or Maggie for short. She's around 5 to 7 years old, but don't let that fool you - she has the energy and spirit of a puppy. Maggie's playful antics will keep you laughing for days. She's your typical boxer - a snuggle bug who loves attention and wants to be with you always, though she'll also happily wander off to do her own thing. Despite her initial condition, Maggie has never been destructive and relaxes comfortably when left alone, rotating her sleeping spots. She has a knack for building nests, gently layering beds, rugs, or blankets until they’re just right. Maggie is incredibly sweet and highly motivated by attention, and sometimes food. We supplemented her food with wet food to help her gain weight, and now she has a preference for it over dry food. While she can be transitioned back to dry food, expect a bit of side-eye during the process. The best way to persuade her to do something is to cheer her on; she thrives on knowing she’s making you happy and gets genuinely bummed if she realizes she’s done something wrong. We are still working on leash training and door darting. She understands the concepts but needs consistent practice. Maggie gets along well with other dogs at home, though she does toy-guard, so we haven't put toys out. She doesn’t like any form of aggression, even playful, and has taken on the role of the "fun police." With (a short amount of) time, she warms up to other dogs for snuggles if no humans are available. Outside, she shows interest in other dogs but the interest may just be anxiety. She does not do well with cats due to her high interest, which does not appear to be friendly. Maggie would be fine as the only dog or with other laid-back, non-territorial dogs. She’s a sweetheart who just wants to love and be loved, and she’ll bring endless joy and laughter to her forever home. Maggie did have a mass cell tumor removed and is considered cured but her future adopters will need to keep a close eye to be sure she doesn't have anymore that pop up. Please apply on our website. www.trackingintheshadows.com Her adoption fee is $200 and she has been fully vetted for 1 year. ##2088928##
