Story
Scooby is our longest resident, and that’s because he is really not meant to be a shelter dog but has a hard time convincing potential adopters of that. He is a sensitive dog who gets concerned about stressful things in his environment. He has come such a long way with his anxiety and nerves with us in the shelter but what he requires is stability and consistency. He was in a temporary foster for two weeks and during that time he showed so much growth as he finally had a chance to settle in as a house pet. After some decompression, we found he wasn’t destructive, played with toys and puzzles, snuggled up on the couch, and even had some nice car rides (with only a little whining). Even in the shelter he is a gentle, friendly boy who follows commands, waits patiently for volunteers to leash him in his kennel, and is easy to walk. Although sometimes he does get spooked and wants to go back inside. What Scooby needs is someone with patience and a willingness to build trust with him once they bring him home and who can work constructively with him on his anxiety needs. We have a trainer who will help the new adopter transition Scooby into his new home. Everyone who knows Scooby, loves him!

Story
Wendell came in as a stray picked up in Baldwinsville and weighs about 45 pounds. He was a little high strung when he first arrived, but we’re happy to say he’s settled in nicely and with training and guidance he’s been gaining confidence every day. So far we’ve learned that Wendell loves treats, although he’s still mindful and gentle when taking them, and loves to play tug and hang out with people he’s familiar with. He still needs a little work on manners but is coming around to be a very sweet and respectful boy. DOG-FRIENDLY

Story
Meet handsome Dash who was was found with his siblings in a cardboard box on the side of the road in cold snowy weather.  They were estimated to be 8-9 week old when they were found and are possibly a Boxer/Shepherd mix.  One of the siblings tested positive for Parvo and has since been treated.  Although Dash received antibodies for Parvo exposure, he did not test positive and has not had any symptoms.  The litter are in a wonderful foster home that was able to keep the siblings together.  He is a typical sweet playful boy who loves to snuggle on your lap.  Dash is working on house training and crate training.  If you are interested in having Dash join your family please put in an adoption application.  The adoption fee goes towards their extensive medical care, foster supplies and will cover neuter.  ##2294889##
