Story
Say hello to Toot !  Toot was just born 7/8/24.  She is adjusting to her new surroundings and getting lots of TLC from her foster family.  We'll share updates and more information about Toot as we learn more about her! Toot will not be available until 9/2/24. We encourage you to apply now to adopt so we can begin the adoption process and she can go to her forever home when old enough. The suggested adoption donation for Toot is $75 (or adopt 2 kittens for $125), which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2128008##

Story
Friendly cat needing a new home! Appa is a gentle and loving boy who needs a new home. He is great with other animals (dogs/cats) and children. He doesn't scratch furniture and is great when it comes to grooming (i.e. nail trims and baths). He is vaccinated and neutered. Sadly I am looking to rehome him due to having too many animals already. I am asking for a $50 rehoming fee (is negotiable). Below is more information regarding Appa: Age: a little over 1 year old Sex: Male (neutered already) Breed: Russian Blue Vaccines: all up to date and will have records available in paper form I am looking for serious inquiries only!

Story
After a very rough start to life as a stray living in rural southern Missouri and narrowly escaping becoming a very young mother as only a kitten herself, Mouse made her way to Dolly’s Legacy and is now ready to start the next phase of life and find her forever home. Mouse is the sweetest kitty you’ll ever meet! She is endlessly affectionate and demands pets with sweet headbutts and gentle biscuit making. Mouse is a tiny gorgeous girl with green eyes that will easily manipulate you into giving her anything she wants, and although she has a little more growing to do, she will likely always be extremely petite. She is the absolute definition of a lap cat and wants to be with her people at all times. She is just learning how to play, and discovering toys, but is rapidly finding out just how fun life can be! Mouse has lived with both dogs and cats in her foster home, and while she does done well with both, she would do best in a home with another young, playful, very laid back cat as she has yet gotten over her time on the streets and can be defensive around other cats. Dogs don’t seem to bother her, although she doesn’t like being chased, so she could easily live with any known cat-friendly dog just fine. Mouse’s ideal home would not have young children as she does startle easily and isn’t a fan of loud noises, but otherwise needs no other special accommodations. She is a perfect litter box user, and is doing well learning where it is appropriate to use her claws. If you are looking for a sweet, affectionate, little shadow to be your constant companion, please consider adding this Mouse to your house! Mouse is a Russian Blue/Domestic Shorthair mix. We cannot guarantee she is a pure Russian Blue or that she is hypoallergenic. She was born approximately 3-1-24 and weighs a tiny 5 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Adoption fee is $150 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/cat-adoption/You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
