Meet Sasha! Sasha's story is long and tragic, but our hope at Out of the Woods Rescue is to make sure she has a happy ending! Sasha was thought to be hit by a car and brought to a local veterinary hospital by her finder for treatment. Sasha was in rough shape - she had pulmonary contusions, hemorrhage in her eyes, and a fractured jaw. While treating her, they found that she was microchipped and contact her owners immediately. Unfortunately, they denied owning her and were not interested in helping her recover. That's where Out of the Woods Rescue jumped in. Sasha had a wire placed in her jaw to stabilize the fracture, and here we are two months later, ready for adoption! Sasha is vision impaired, almost blind, but is very capable and gets around quite well. Sasha was already spayed and microchipped, but we have updated her vaccinations, deworming, administered flea prevention, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. Mama Gray is a 10 year old Russian Blue who used to live in a cat colony on an old porch off a dirt road. She and her companion Tiger are quiet cats who are now enjoying the comforts of an inside life. Mama is standoffish and does not want to be snuggled, cuddled or picked up although she tolerates some petting on her own terms. She enjoys her treats and wet food, maybe a bit too much! This senior lady deserves a quiet home with a cat lover who will be patient with her and give her space and time to adjust. Hi! I'm Zuul!  I was found outside as a young gent and trapped as a feral teen.  Thankfully my rescue didn't give up on me as they helped me learn to trust people and be what they call a "pet"!   I can still be a little nervous at times but once you have earned my trust, I love to be pet and get belly rubs!   I have been told by my foster mom I am a lucky miracle boy!! Not only was I found, trapped and socialized, but I then got very sick in July 2022.  I had what the hoomans call FIP.  My foster mom cried so much and was so scared to lose me. I felt horrible and my skin was turning yellow and my belly was filling with fluid. I felt icky. I just wanted to sleep in my kitty  bed  as I didnt have any energy or desire to eat. Foster momma was determined to help me have a gteat life!!! She gave me fluids, supplements and medication for what seems like forever!! Checks and rechecks with the vet all the time!! Almost 3 months later I was feeling BETTER than before!! bigger and better!! Thanks to my foster mom and my best buddy Munckin. Shes a tiny little one who snuggled me when I felt sick. We live in foster together and she doenst really like people but she  LOVES ME! I would love a home with My best girl, Munchkin (we call her Munchie ).   ##1314906##

“Char” is the sweetest cat, who loves the color purple and bed time cuddles. Unfortunately we are moving and are unable to take her along with us and are hoping to find her a new loving home. She is use to living with other cats, but tends to be shy so may take some time getting use to new surroundings.

Ziggy is a sweet cat and he is very affectionate and playful. He loves to cuddle. Sometimes when he is bored he will chase his tail; it’s very entertaining. She is shy around strangers but eventually, he will warm up to them and show his affectionate side.

Buffy is an affectionate, playful adult female. She has been raised in a foster home since she was a kitten. She came in with a litter of kittens very sick with a cold. As you can see, she is now healthy and looking for a furrrever home! She has very soft, plushy silver fur, and is affectionate and quiet. Buffy loves to play with balls of tin foil, and likes to sit next to you on the couch. She likes to be petted very much, and will submit to a medical exam by a vet just fine, but like many cats, does not like to be picked up and held. Buffy is quiet and shy. She currently lives in a home with other cats and gets along fine, but gets picked on by stronger personalities. Buffy does well with children who are older and can pet her gently. This gorgous Russian Blue boy is about 3 months old and has such a wonderful personality. He is so chill and calm and loves to just relax and solicit pets from his human friends. He gets along great with all the other kitties he's being fostered with, and he loves the children at his foster home. He will play a bit if you engage him. Jolly Rancher and his siblings were abandoned along with their mother in a rural area of NC. Thankfully, a very nice family took them in and fostered them until they were old enough to be transported up to us to find their forever homes. He will need to be neutered when he is old enough.
