Introducing Apple Jacks, a sweet grey boy with the most sweet, innocent face ever! His fur may look lighter or darker depending on how the light hits it. He is friends to all people and cats! He wants to be by his person in order to get pet a lot! He is also a rough and tumble boy, and loves to wrestle with all of his foster siblings! In addition, he will happily pounce on any toy that moves! He comes running at the sound of a can opening! Grey Cat was rescued during TNR. We originally thought she was feral, but discovered she actually likes pets! She will get in bed with you & make the greatest biscuits. She likes to follow her foster around & also play in her water dish.She was originally hissing & we discovered she is just afraid or does not like other cats. She needs to be the only cat to make her life happy.

Martha was rescued in what we thought would be a TNR (trap, neuter, return) operation after being found in a hoarding situation, but we quickly realized that she is completely tame! We're still learning about her personality, but we do know that she does well with other cats having grown up around so many.

Whisper is a one-year old solid blue-grey girl with a wonderful disposition. She wants to be everyone's friend, including the foster family dog.Whisper was in pretty bad shape when she was rescued with only two kittens left of her litter. Sadly, we lost the weakest almost immediately. With our help getting both Whisper and her remaining kitten healthy, Whisper took care of her baby until it was time for them both to find their own forever home.Whisper deserves a better life. She seeks out pets and laps, rewarding you with loud purrs. We hope her new family will help her realize the best is yet to come!

If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative. ****Puppies and kittens will be fixed when they are 5 months old. When they are adopted younger than 5 months, they MUST be adopted in East Tennessee.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer.
