Story
Meet Xiao Bai, a approximately 5-6 year old Samoyed who had a rough life in China. She wasn't well taken care of and the previous owners were cruel. She may have some back issues from old injuries but with the help from vets and some meds, she seems to be doing well, walking and running just fine. She does take daily supplements as advised from the vets. She loves people and dogs but may bully smaller dogs. She's very smart, loving, and bossy (which is normal for a samoyed). Ready for adoption in the SF Bay Area only. She's a fantastic dog and the right family will be willing to love and care for her including her potential back issues that may flare up. She has so much life in her. She's great with kids, LOVES car rides, walks well on leash and is potty and house trained. Reach out if interested.

Story
Meet Ella and Nova! These two fantastically fluffy ladies are active and love adventure. They`re lifetime companions so will likely do best if they can go to a home together: Ella is more outgoing while Nova follows her lead. They`ve both met dogs and have done well, so they may do fine with resident dog - we`d recommend a brief meet at the Shelter prior to adoption just to see if there seems to be `good chemistry.` They`ll also likely do best where they either have a large, safe property to explore and run around in, or if they get very consistent moderate to high level exercise - running and/or walking a couple miles with their people or safely running with a bicycle, etc, along with some brain engagement like puzzle feeding and positive reinforcement training games or activities. They are clever, and have managed to escape from a few yards while in foster care, so very conservative management and oversight will be needed, especially at first, while they settle in to a new home and bond with their new people. We don`t recommend these two with cats or small animals due to previously observed prey drive. A home with children is a possible fit, especially if the kids are engaged in physical and mental exercise with these floofie friends. Their adoption fee is sponsored, so if you think you might like to give these girls a try in your life, we`d love to have you come and see us!

Story
Hey there! I'm KONA and I'm on a quest to find my furever home! I've been spending time at the shelter and making friends, but I'm ready to embark on a new journey with you. I'm an approximately 5-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix and weigh 75 lbs. Some of my friends think I may have some Siberian Husky in me. Regardless of my mix, I am told I am quite a handsome doggo! The great outdoors is my playground. I love to go out with my volunteer friends and chase a squeaky toy or ball. I don't know who invented squeaky toys but let's just say they are quite a hit with me. I'm always up for a game of fetch. It's a fantastic way for us to bond and have a blast together. I can't wait to bring my zest for life into your home. I really enjoy taking strolls and sniffaris and think I could make a great adventure buddy. I walk well on leash and know "sit,'' "down,'' "drop,'' and "come back.'' And with you and your yummy treats, I could learn even more. I'm not just looking for a home; I'm searching for a forever friend. Someone who will appreciate a loyal companion by their side; and let me tell you, I am quite the lovebug! I love to be close to my friends, get loved on, brushed, get sweet talk, and belly rubs (they are fantastic!). I can be dog selective - preferring the ladies. And I think they like me too! I was not well cared for before coming to the shelter, but you can see how spiffy I look now. And I am already vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and ready to go! If you're up for endless love - I'm your guy! ## Kona's neuter is being sponsored by TVAR ($35 adoption and, if applicable, licensing fees still apply) ## ## See video of Kona at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Kona's Shelter ID# is 81919. He's an adult, male, black and white, Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky mix. He currently weighs 75 lbs. He has already been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and is ready to go to his new home! Kona is located in kennel D-1. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.
