Story
Meet Taffy! She’s so exceptionally sweet, loving, confident, calm and respectful. This girl just might be the best dog at the rescue! Taffy is around 2 years old, 50 pounds, and we believe her to be a Beagle, Pittie mix- however she is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Fall in love with Taffy here: https://youtu.be/uSxfGcWCJ5o Taffy warms up to new people quickly! She’s all about love and will ask politely for pets. She’ll gently paw at you to ask you to keep petting, and she likes to hold hands! When we brought in other dogs to introduce to her she was reserved at first, but she’s very playful with dogs she knows well. Taffy would be great in a home with a male dog, as she was found with a male dog and seems more comfortable and relaxed with them. Taffy also got the chance to meet the house cat, Tom. She remained calm and respectful to Tom and it told us that she could live in a home with a dog savvy cat. Taffy is food motivated, and eager to please, she’ll be a very enjoyable dog to further train. She’s great at listening and being corrected when she gets excited for your attention. Our favourite thing about Taffy is her little piglet tail she has. She’ll make it move for you when you give her treats and get on the floor with her for snuggles. Taffy loves people! Taffy is great with kids, too. She’s very gentle and slow with them, which isn’t too different from the way she acts with adults. She does like to trail after kids, following them around and monitoring their safety and availability for pets. Taffy has such a calm and relaxed demeanor, but outside, she knows how to play! Taffy would be an awesome dog to hike with, she’s easy on leash and she loves the water! This girl loves to splash around, and she’s a champ when the towel comes out. She loves to be dried off too! Why can’t every dog be like Taffy? Her specialty is being a calm dog that is there for you when you need a companion to lean on. Taffy would thrive in a quieter residential home or apartment and benefit from continued leash training and walks. She is incredibly loving and will blossom with patience and love from her new family. Come meet her, in person or virtually via video call, and see if you can give her the love she deserves! We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Introducing Jazz! 🎉 A charming one-year-old dog in search of her forever home. Jazz is a sweet and gentle girl who loves to explore and play in ponds. 🌊 Her love for playing in the pond makes her a great companion for trips to the lake or beach! Jazz absolutely adores kids, though her bouncy nature means she’d do best in a home with children aged 6 and up. She also dreams of having a doggy friend to play with! Her favourite game is fetch with the ball, and she delights in chewing on her Nu-bones. 🎾🦴 When meeting new people and dogs, Jazz approaches with curiosity and a calm demeanor. While she might be a bit reserved at first, she warms up quickly once she feels comfortable. Jazz interacts well with other dogs, showing playful interest after an initial period of adjustment. On the leash, Jazz does well but would benefit from additional training to build her confidence and improve her skills. She’s a fast learner and very treat-motivated, so she'll be a pro in no time. 🐾 Jazz is curious about cats but doesn’t seem overly fixated on them, demonstrating a respectful interest rather than any aggressive tendencies. She could live in a home with a dog-savvy cat! 🐱 This young dog is still learning about the world around her, and a patient, loving home would be ideal to help her continue to grow and thrive. If you’re ready to give Jazz the space and care she needs, she’s sure to reward you with loyalty and affection. 💖 Adoption link https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/66a7ba7d8d8cc5f9e4057063 Questions? Story
Meet Mai Tai! She is currently about 25 pounds, about 4 months old, and we think she may be a Coonhound mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Check out Mai Tai's video here: The first thing you will notice about Mai Tai is her amazing eyes – they just pop out at you! Those gorgeous blue eyes really stand out against her black and brown colouring, and this charming girl uses them so expressively! You won’t be able to resist her plaintive looks begging for chest scratches and belly rubs (nor should you, lol). Mai Tai loves to romp and play (hello puppy!) and loves to do so with her puppy siblings. She comes from a litter of 8, so she knows the doggy interaction ropes well. She is so friendly with people and kids of all ages – everyone she meets poses an opportunity to play or snuggle in Mai Tai’s world! We have to insist that Mai Tai have a plethora of toys – she favours the soft stuffies with squeakers, but she’s an equal opportunity toy lover and will enjoy them all. (We not-so-secretly predict that Mai Tai will perform careful and delicate squeaky surgery on all her toys – squeak-ectomies, if you will, and would love for you to let us know if this is accurate!?) Mai Tai loves to play tug of war with you, and will bring toys to your feet, just to help you out. We love a kind and considerate puppy dog, lol. Mai Tai is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation.
