Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 11 pounds Terra is a happy little lady ready to land in her forever home! Terra appreciates regular meals, a couple of well-timed treats, walks around the neighborhood, and loads of love. At the end of her busy day, she enjoys relaxing on the couch snuggled up next to you. Although she definitely prefers when her human companion is around, she is also fine when left home alone for a little while. Up until now, Terra did not get a chance to live life to the fullest and she is eager to catch up on the plush pampered poodle lifestyle. This sweet girl is perfectly polite when meeting new pups and will give them an initial sniff but doesn't really pay them any mind after that. She does have a bit of a wobbly walk, but she gets around beautifully. Our vet staff diagnosed Terra with a heart condition known as an AV Block, which means she cannot undergo surgery due to possible complications under anesthesia and has not been able to have some mammary masses removed. She has also been experiencing some seizures. For this reason, Terra is looking for a home that is comfortable administering life long oral medication to her daily. Due to Terra's current medical needs, POMDR is offering one year of medical appointments/medications through our Monterey vet clinic at no cost to their adopter. If you are interested in taking advantage of this perk, we can share more with you upon submission of your adoption questionnaire. Terra was roaming the streets as a stray when a good Samaritan saw a truck run over her -- fortunately without making contact! She was taken to Hitchcock Road Animal Services before joining POMDR.

Her sweetness is as endearing as her friendliness is inviting. Buffy's mellow temperament makes her a joy to be around, and her gentle nature is a comfort to all who know her. Despite some vision loss, Buffy goes forward with courage, embodying the spirit of her namesake, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She's also incredibly cuddly, making her the perfect companion for those cozy nights in. In fact, we affectionately refer to her as Buffy the Nap Slayer! With Buffy, you're not just adopting a pet, you're welcoming a loyal friend who will offer unconditional love and companionship. This sweet lady gets along well with other dogs and adores her humans. She is losing some of her vision, so she can be startled when people come to pet her or pick her up. A gentle pat on her body or head is all she asks to ensure she knows you're there. Looks like: Poodle, Shih Tzu mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 12 pounds Meet the most silly little marshmallow fluff you are bound to meet, Jet Puffed! His personality is as quirky as his name suggests, always eager to offer a friendly wag of his tail to anyone who comes his way. Jet Puffed has a sense of independence that is admirable, yet he never shies away from spending quality time with those around him. Jet Puffed has his fair share of quirks- we think these just add to his charm! While Jetty loves spending time with his people, he is a dog who needs to be worked with on his terms. He does set clear boundaries with those around him to ensure they understand when he'd rather be left alone. He does not like to be touched when chewing on his toys and he is looking for a home that is able to respect his boundaries. Because of these boundaries, we suggest Jet should not be in a home with young children. He gets along well with other respectful dogs who do not try to take his favorite toys but we have found that kitties are a little too exciting for Jet Puffed so he is searching for a home without kitty friends. Walks are a favorite of his! He'd love a home that can keep his active legs moving. He's also a mastermind at puzzle feeders and games! It's really fun to see him navigate these activities. Looking for a quirky pup to keep you entertained day after day? Jetty is your boy! This fluffy little pup joined us from the Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter after his senior guardian's health sadly declined and caring for Jet Puffed became too difficult.

Looks like: Poodle mix Male, 8 years old (estimated), 16 pounds Little Cheddar is a character ready to join you for whatever adventures you have in store. Poor Cheddar found himself in a home with many other Poodles. Cheddar stands out with his soulfull puppy eyes and his foster reports his ears are the softest ever!! This sweet boy loves a good ear and belly rub. They also report that he is a quiet guy, they've never heard him bark, and super affectionate. What a sweetie! Cheddar is as calm as they come - he takes bath with ease - and would love a chance to steal your heart. Despite this less than ideal start to life, Cheddar has been a doll with all people he meets and loves other dogs! He's a dog bound to bring a smile to your face. Despite is calm nature at home, he does love to run around outside and would love to go to an active home! Cheddar joined us from the Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter after their guardian was hospitalized.

Looks like: Toy Poodle Female, 13 years old (estimated), 10 pounds Say hello to Shaquira aka Angel! This sweet little Poodle mix came back to POMDR after her guardian moved to a new facility and could no longer have her there. She does respond to the name Angel, and is looking for a new forever home full of love. This sweet girl enjoys being held by her person, and deeply bonds with her owners. She is a pup who will benefit from regular grooming. This sweetheart has separation anxiety when left behind, and will need help learning it is okay to be alone for a bit. Angel would prefer to be the only pup in the home, and the apple of her human's eye! Angel came to us after her loving surrendering guardian could no longer have her in her living facility.

This poor sweet boy came to us with a broken pelvis (ouch), but thanks to our wonderful vet staff and a loving foster, Dusty is making huge improvements! He is still learning how to walk properly, especially on leash, but this handsome boy cannot be stopped! Despite his understandably painful journey, Dusty has been and continues to be a boy full of love! Dusty joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he landed after being picked up as a stray.

I’m heartbroken to do this but my baby needs a good home , my mom recently got sick and due to all her appointments and being off work we need to move/ downsize meaning where we are going I cannot take bubba. I got bubba off a social media post when he was a puppy (two months old) , the lady that gave him to me didn’t know what exact breed he was so he was always my little mutt , he’s a protective and loving dog, his birthday is June 24,2020 so he is almost five years old. He loves anyone , of course will bark like a big dog but once able to smell person/dog will cry and love the attention given. He’s always been an inside dog , meaning he loves cuddling and being babied. He’s an amazing dog to have.
