Story
I’m heartbroken to do this but my baby needs a good home , my mom recently got sick and due to all her appointments and being off work we need to move/ downsize meaning where we are going I cannot take bubba. I got bubba off a social media post when he was a puppy (two months old) , the lady that gave him to me didn’t know what exact breed he was so he was always my little mutt , he’s a protective and loving dog, his birthday is June 24,2020 so he is almost five years old. He loves anyone , of course will bark like a big dog but once able to smell person/dog will cry and love the attention given. He’s always been an inside dog , meaning he loves cuddling and being babied. He’s an amazing dog to have.

Story
Miss Fiona has been through some tough times, but this little poodle is bravely learning to open her heart again. Beneath her cautious exterior is a gentle, loving soul just waiting to blossom in the right home. Fiona does have a sensitivity to touch, so she’ll need a little extra time and patience to feel safe and comfortable. She’s looking for a calm, experienced human who understands dogs and can give her the longer adjustment period she needs to truly shine. While younger children may be overwhelming for her at first, Fiona absolutely adores the company of other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion by her side. What Fiona truly needs is a family of her own—one that can meet her where she is, celebrate her progress, and give her the happy, loving home she so deeply deserves. Could you be the one to give her the beautiful beginning she’s been waiting for?

Story
Are you looking for a young senior who is as precious as they come? Let us introduce you to Kenneth! He may have zero vision but his heart is solid gold. He has no trouble navigating the world around him. Once he maps out the room, he will quickly be able to follow the path right into your lap. Kenneth is quite the cuddler. He loves people, he loves dogs, he loves attention. He didn't get much while living as an outside dog, so he is extra ready to start living his best life full of love and warmth. Here's some notes from his foster: He has been very good at socializing with cats, new people and new places. Kenneth clearly loves the park - big grassy spaces, meeting new dogs seems to be of big interest. He walks extremely well on a leash even being blind! Kenneth loves the car (sleeping in it :)), he loves dog beds, and he loves beds. He is very good at eating his food, not begging for ours, and loves to hunt for treats. We are working on getting him used to a crate or leaving him alone when needed, that's the only time we have heard him bark. We think this will improve as he gets settled in. He does not do stairs. He likes going to work too! He really likes when you talk to him, and explaining where he is going and where there might be walls or furniture or new friends. Kenneth just really loves being with his people. He can often be under foot if he is up and about, but most of the time he is just chillaxing in one of his many dog beds.

Story
Sweet poodle princess Melody has arrived from Mexico, bringing international flavor and world-class cuteness to our hardy crew. This wee pup has gained firm footing in foster care and arrives with the golden glow of a senior feeling her oats. She’s a bit vision and hearing impaired, but gifted with loads of sociability, physical grace, gentle manners and pristine curls. Adept as she is at exploring and making friends with dogs and people, she does love a couch and won’t say no to an underarm Uber, especially where stairs are involved. Interested in a multilingual snuggle bunny with a new lease on life? She’s over here! Here's some notes from her foster: Melody is a sweet little lady! She is very independent but her easygoing nature make her a breeze to take care of. She fell asleep almost right away in the car. Melody isn’t much of a walker but will putter around for half a block. Then she seems content to be carried and be able to smell all the new smells. She really loves roaming around wide open park spaces - we took her to Francisco park and she was happy as a clam to wander around in a little grassy area. She pays no mind to anything else but the smells in the grass around her. I decided to try out a sling to carry Melody around. She seems to be enjoying it so far and we were able to go on a long walk around the neighborhood and grabbed a coffee together! She was able to smell all the smells with her head poked out while I walked, and she got several compliments along the way. A perfect pup in a bag moment! She explored our teeny backyard and a neighborhood grassy park - she seems to like sniffing the grass and circling around. Melody loves her bed and blanket, and seems content to snooze most of the day away. Melody is definitely getting her bearings and bumping her way around the apartment exploring the new space. We think she’s also mostly deaf in addition to mostly blind, but she follows her nose everywhere and is so gentle when she walks around!

Story
Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 11 pounds Terra is a happy little lady ready to land in her forever home! Terra appreciates regular meals, a couple of well-timed treats, walks around the neighborhood, and loads of love. At the end of her busy day, she enjoys relaxing on the couch snuggled up next to you. Although she definitely prefers when her human companion is around, she is also fine when left home alone for a little while. Up until now, Terra did not get a chance to live life to the fullest and she is eager to catch up on the plush pampered poodle lifestyle. This sweet girl is perfectly polite when meeting new pups and will give them an initial sniff but doesn't really pay them any mind after that. She does have a bit of a wobbly walk, but she gets around beautifully. Our vet staff diagnosed Terra with a heart condition known as an AV Block, which means she cannot undergo surgery due to possible complications under anesthesia and has not been able to have some mammary masses removed. She has also been experiencing some seizures. For this reason, Terra is looking for a home that is comfortable administering life long oral medication to her daily. Due to Terra's current medical needs, POMDR is offering one year of medical appointments/medications through our Monterey vet clinic at no cost to their adopter. If you are interested in taking advantage of this perk, we can share more with you upon submission of your adoption questionnaire. Terra was roaming the streets as a stray when a good Samaritan saw a truck run over her -- fortunately without making contact! She was taken to Hitchcock Road Animal Services before joining POMDR.
