Story
Hey there, I’m Felix the Doodle! According to my foster parents, I am too smart for my own good sometimes. Not sure what they mean by that, but I take it to mean that I’m a fast learner! In just a few short weeks, I’ve learned several commands (sit, wait, shake, and down) and learning to potty outside was a piece of cake. Speaking of cake, I am processing some of my previous trauma and working through some resource guarding tendencies with my food. It will take some time for me to understand that I no longer have to worry about where my next meal comes from, but I'm working on it! I have a lot of energy and love to ruffhouse with my foster sibling (a Labradoodle), but still enjoy a routine and downtime in my crate. I am looking for an active family who can match my spunk. Is that you? Stop by AARF and say hello!

TEXAS Adoption Only Hello Everyone, My name is Bramble I am a 4 year old 17 pound mini poodle terrier mix. Hold your Horses though. I know that usually that means you have found the perfect size cuddle boy and lap baby. This is not me. I will not be sitting in your lap anytime soon. My foster mom is working very hard to let me know all the humans aren't terrible but I am slow to believe her. I have been here 8 months and I like treats from her and a random gentle head pat I've given mom permission to look at me & sweet talk me, but she'd better not try to pick me up. I no longer run away if we are in the same space and she is so excited for my progress. I just need to exist in your house until I'm fully comfortable and that is going to take a lot of time hot dogs and cheese and work on your part. Does your current dog need a friend? I love to play with other dogs and in fact I require a home with another dog who also like to play. I'm a totally different boy with my fur friends. Foster mum has cats and dogs so I do great with both. I also need a fully secured back yard with a privacy fence. Sorry no Chain link for me. If I get out you will not get me back. I know I'm looking for a unicorn and I'm hopeful that my unicorns are out there and will love me for who I am. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Probably a miniature poodle. Weight 13.5 lbs. Vet says about 4 yrs old. He was come 180 degrees from being picked up. He is FANTASTIC on leash, trots along like a typical poodle you see in France! He is timid at first but warms up and loves to be with you. Will follow you from room to room unless too lazy to get up from his relaxation spot. He plays well with my other 2 dogs, would definitely prefer a home with another dog as he clearly was with one prior to us rescuing him. Poodles are typically known for fussy eating.. this boy eats well. Great manners. Takes treats gently and no food aggression I have witnessed. They all 3 eat together. He prefers sleeping on bed with us... but we spoil him. We are trying to make up for his ugly past. He shares our bed well with his fur sister . He will go into a crate without problems. He is potty trained to either go outside, will use doggy door, or use pee pads when we leave. He is very trust worthy on this. Not a chewers. Likes toys now..and plays with his step sister. He is submissive one she calls the shots although she's smaller... He likes to chill on couch right next to you whenever possible or near you. Would be best suited in home with someone who isn't away much, and ideally another pup. This boy is learning to trust people and doing remarkable.. He is fine with cats not reactive he spent the night away with another foster who had 2. She said he was not a fan if her 2 big dogs. We have 2 small to med size pups. He needs someone willing to continue to give positive reinforcement of love and patience and kindness. Listens well. And can be easily redirected when doing something He shouldn't...like chasing a squirrel or barking. Sweet sweet guy. Local adoption fee in Texas is $200 Out of state adoption fee with transport is $450 including a temporary fuel surcharge.

These pups are in Mount Airy, North Carolina too!
