Meet Wrinkles, a 15-year-old dog with a heart full of love and a spirit that's nothing short of resilient. She's a survivor, having lived through a house fire, and her character is as strong as they come. Wrinkles is a sweet, friendly soul who loves nothing more than to share her warmth and affection with those around her. Her intelligence is clear in her mellow and gentle demeanor, and her cuddly nature makes her the perfect companion. Wrinkles has a lot of love left to give, and she's looking for a forever home where she can share her golden years. Her resilience, love, and loyalty make her the perfect addition to any family. Wrinkles is a 15 yr old female Shar-Pei mix. She has a medium energy level, so she should fit well into most homes provided she receives a moderate amount of daily exercise and play. She walks well on a leash with no pulling. Wrinkles is food motivated; and knows the commands sit, down, and shake. She mixes well with other dogs in a kennel, but is intensely interested in cats in the shelter environment. Dogs are generally tested with dogs of their own size; and dog meets with the resident dogs are always encouraged. Our cat test should be used as a general-purpose screening only to rule out overt aggression; we always recommend caution when introducing dogs to cats in the home. Recommendation on suitability of placement with children by their ages is based on behavioral observations including energy level and response to body handling. We never recommend leaving young children unsupervised with dogs, and we cannot guarantee the behavior of dogs with children, other pets, or cats. Behavior evaluations should be considered as a snapshot of the behavior of the dog at this point in time; JHS believes all dog families need to be prepared to invest time and energy into training as well as provide common sense management of their new dog. We always encourage family to do some research on the breeds or mixes of breeds prior to adoption as many can have some unique characteristics that may or may not fit into their families. Always remember that the majority of dogs at our shelter have been exposed to or may have kennel cough. Kennel cough is contagious to other dogs, please talk to your vet if you have any questions about kennel cough prior to adoption. Please ask your adoption counselor at time of adoption if you have any unanswered questions regarding illnesses and treatments of the pet that you are adopting. Thanks to #Petfinder Foundation, my adoption fee is now covered! I am 2 years old. You can tell from my smile that I am a happy girl who loves people and enjoys playing with other dogs. I would probably chase a cat if given a chance, though. I like to be included in whatever you’re doing and love butt scratches. I do potty in my pen overnight (oops!). I am cautious and shy around new people at first, but then am affectionate and playful. I am good with some dogs and am leash trained. I could be an indoor/outdoor dog, but an apartment would not be good. I have now been waiting for over one year for my new family to come give me a home. Maybe soon?
