Location: Sioux Falls, SD Taj is a sweet, energetic and goofy little boy. He loves to be loved and curl up on your lap. He plays with stuffed toys, squeaky toys, balls, and loves to run with his foster siblings. He enjoys a good chew stick. When he sleeps, he sleeps hard and snores like a freight train. With his big nose it's understandable that he could snore loudly. He has a black lab body with a shar pei face. (A bit less wrinkles) He is currently all arms and legs and doesn't always have control of where everything is going in his movements and actions. He likes to be in the water but needs a life jacket. He's clumsy and currently swims like a rock, but he is insistent on joining in on the swimming fun. Potty training has gone well and he is going outside routinely. He prefers to go on a solid surface versus in the grass. Being in the kennel for a bit, he's partial to going on solid surfaces. This girl goes at 100 miles an hour, and then snuggles. She is a high energy youngster! Her smooth short coat is easy maintenance. Sits quietly for nail trims. This active pup is great with other dogs and ignores the resident cat. She loves to play and play and play with her human and dog friends. Working on house breaking (good progress for age, keeps kennel dry and clean but needs frequently potty trips and close supervision when inside). Quiet and great in a kennel. Needs a slow feed bowl please :-) Working on walking on a leash Already doing well on "come" with treats, working on "sit", knows "kennel", but frequently does still jump up in her happiness and joy at seeing you and playing. Likes playing with stuffed toys, Kongs, and Benebone chews. A home with older children (approximately 10 yrs +) needed, as in her few interactions with younger children she has been fearful. Her extreme exuberance is not a good mix for little children, and she will need a home that can help work with her on her hesitation with new people and younger kids. Gigi will make a great companion for a family that will provide exercise and enrichment for an active young pup. This boy was dumped off at an auction place by his owners. Apparently their new landlord wouldn’t let him stay and that was their solution. He waited for them but was caught by a volunteer's house and brought in. He is a sweet, sweet boy who was definitely cared for. We’re positive he is housetrained and does well on a leash. He does well around other dogs his size, have not put him with smaller dogs. We aren’t sure about cats but know he can learn those manners. He loves to be around people, does well with kids and would love to go on any adventure with his new family. He would do best in a yard to get some energy out but it doesn't have to be too big…. just something he can walk around in but extra walks or dog park would do best for him. He is just a big lover who was let down by one family and is hoping for a second chance with a new one. Hank is being fostered in TN at this time but no worries because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. They transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest.

Whiskey was born July 15, 2023. He came into rescue at 8 weeks old when the owner couldn’t find him a home. His mother is boxer and father Black and Tan hound. (Pictures of parents attached.) He is a sweet playful pup that has done great with small and large dogs. He is crate trained and doing very well with his house training. He loves toys and sticks to chew on. What we know about Gus: Great with dogs Great with kids (has lived with kids and another dog previously) Awesome temperament Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus is located in East, TN. But if you are seeing this on adopt-a-pet, transport fees are included in the adoption fee. Out of state adopters are welcomed. Transport is available to your area in the NorthEast or Great Lakes area. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road (Rescue Riders Transport)! What we know about Gus: Dog Friendly Kid Friendly Has lived with kids and another dog previously Awesome temperament NO cats Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus came to us extremely underweight, nearly bald, with open wounds all over his body due to Demodex mange. He has since recovered fully and is ready to find his forever family! Gus was far too interested in the cats when we cat tested him as his herding instincts are present with these types of animals. However, he is great with other dogs and we use him to help introduce new dogs to the rescue. He also does fantastic with the 3 year old human on the rescue property! Gus has gone out on multiple Doggie Day Outs and did so well each time! He was his happiest self at the dog park with his rescue buddy (Folly) who has since been adopted. He likes to meet new people and go for car rides! We think he could be a heeler mix because of the speckles but we truly still don’t have a great idea about breed. The regrowth of hair didn’t help us with this as much as we thought it would 😂 Note: Since Gus has a history of Demodex mange, this means he is genetically predisposed to this condition if he does not take flea/tick prevention regularly. He is currently on Simparica Trio and doing so well. Please let us know if you have any questions about this condition!
