Amelia is such a sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and give you kisses and little nibbles. She will follow you everywhere and is not at all interested in running away - she does not like to be left alone or left behind. She is the perfect mid-sized companion and will be a very affectionate, loyal friend. She seldom barks. Isn't she cute - with those button ears?Amelia is not at all aggressive, and at times can be a bit shy. She is so eager to trust but is sometimes a little unsure and cautious. She loves to see familiar people and loves to play with their dogs when we go for walks each morning, noon and night. She enjoys riding in the car and is very well behaved on outings to dog-friendly restaurants, wineries and outdoor events. She and her foster brother play well together. They will chase each other and share toys. Amelia is also content to play quietly with toys by herself. She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. She is spayed. Amelia has graduated potty-training 101. We are so proud of her. She is proud of herself and really shows how happy she is when she hears she's been a good girl. She gets a good belly scratch.If you have dogs or cats, as always, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky girl that loves walks, hikes, humans, dogs, snuggles, and the like, then look no further. This sweet girl is nearly perfect! She can't help but make your day a little more "Rosie". She's house trained, crate trained, and does great on walks (and looooves an adventure - car rides, meeting friends, play dates - she's your girl)! She's still young and is best behaved after a little activity, but such a good pup. She's learning basic commands and spends her time trying to please her humans. She may be one of the happiest foster dogs we've met! While she does have heartworms, the friends of wake county has sponsored her $600 toward her treatment. And it's very treatable. Hi there, my name is Cookie! I am a friendly and affectionate pup who loves eating yummy treats and making friends! The shelter can be a bit overwhelming for me, and I appreciate when people take things slow with me at first to allow me some time to warm up. But once I have warmed up, I would love to be your best friend! Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you`ll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. If you have any questions about this please ask to speak with a member of the medical staff.I am currently available in my foster home. INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Gunner is so very sweet and loving, he has been so lovely to have around. He loves being outside and going for walks, but he equally loves just being with you. He has been around teenagers and done really well with them. We can`t comment on younger children, as we haven`t had that experience. We didn`t know much about his past, but he definitely responds to directions and is respectful of your request. From being around him and observing him, we would say he`s been in a family environment and really enjoys the company. He’s a great addition to any household. He is very sweet and has been gentle around everyone who has come in the house. He is super aware of strangers and does bark at first, but he soon gets past it. He does pull on leash and bark when he sees other dogs, so he could use some training where that is concerned. He would do better in a house where someone is home most of the day (at least during an adjustment period for training), he can be anxious about being left alone. Overall, he’s a lovable, cuddly puppy.`Like all pets going into a new home, Gunner will need slow, monitored introductions to new people or pets. Hello all! This is Cannela and she came to us when her owners could no longer care for her. Cannela is reported to be good with people and is an energetic, fun gal! Cannela has a tendency to want to explore many places & due to this, we recommend that she be adopted into a home with a fenced-in backyard so that she can frolick safely.
