Story
Say hey to this cutie!  Bernie is a typical teenager/puppy, very playful and a short attention span!  He does well with other dogs but is still learning to play gentle with smaller dogs and cats.  We believe he has been on his own for a long while so living in a home has been an exciting new experience that he is doing very well with.  Bernie has learned the crate and has had no accidents while in it.  He loves belly rubs (what dog doesn't!), loves chasing a ball and is working on the bringing it all the way back to you! Stuffed toys are fair game with this kid! We think he would do great with an active family.  Bernie is very curious and loves to always check out what you are doing!  He would be a great addition to the right family! www.carerescueok.org ##2013983##

Story
Duke was a stray that had been roaming the neighborhoods of Catoosa for sometime. Duke would wander the streets following anyone he might think would give him food/water and a good home. He was not socialized in any way when he came to us. Duke spent a lot of time just learning the basics like walking on a leash, and coming out of his kennel. While Duke has spent some time with his he has made tremendous progress on walking on a leash. Though sometimes he does not want to leave his kennel to go outside. Sudden movements and loud noises seem to be what bothers him the most. Duke needs an understanding adopter that will let him take as much time as he needs to adjust to a home. We're not sure if he's ever had one, until he came to us, but a shelter is no place for an animal to live longterm.

Story
Alala is a sweetheart with a rough past. When we got Alala she was missing quite a bit of fur due to flea dermatitis, had a swollen eye as if something had poked it, and was in need of a place to rest her head while we worked on getting her to a healthy weight. Alala wasn't a fan of the eye drops and eye cream, but she took it like a pro, and now her eye is healed. Alala definitely just wants to be around her people all of the time, that is once she gets comfortable with you. When Alala came to us she was shutdown. She wouldn't walk on a leash (so we had to carry her everywhere), she was a nervous wreck and didn't know who to trust. Due to this Alala will need an understanding adopter who will give her the proper amount of time to make her feel comfortable and learn to trust you. Once she gets to know you, she will never leave you alone. She wants to be by her people to cuddle, get pets/belly rubs, and all of her favorite treats!
