Puddles is a smart, beautiful, wrinkly chubby faced pup. He loves exploring the great outdoors and playing with his 4-legged foster brothers. Puddles aka Porter is a very sweet boy who can be a lil shy at first; he prefers gentle intros. Porter is just a big baby who needs confidence building and a gentle human to guide him. I promise the patience is well worth it for this amazing pup. Come visit Puddles in his foster home any time.  *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. Meet Queen (nicknames: Queen Bean, and Queen of the Beans) Queen is a gentle, loving mama whose puppies have all found homes—now it’s her turn to shine! She’s the perfect companion, great with dogs, cats, chickens, kids—basically anyone she meets! Playful and silly, especially with other dogs, her short-legged zoomies will have you laughing in no time. But most of the time, she’s so quiet and low-maintenance, you might forget she’s even there. Well, until you catch sight of her forever wiggle butt squeezing into spaces she doesn’t quite fit! While she’s still getting the hang of walking on a leash, she’s an excellent riding buddy and loves to be close. Super snuggly but equally happy in her crate, she runs there any time she thinks it’s time to eat! Just don’t let her fool you with her big booty—she’s a bit clumsy and sometimes seems blissfully unaware of her surroundings. Queen’s no jumper either, but her little dance next to the bed will tell you she’s ready to be picked up. And when she decides to join in, forget about personal space—she’ll wedge herself right next to you, but thankfully, she’s not a licker! She just nudges her head into you, rolls onto her back, and throws her feet in the air. If you’re looking for an easy, house-trained, calm but playful young adult who brings joy, cuddles, and plenty of smiles, Queen is your girl! **Meet Spirit!** Spirit is a 1-year-old boxer mix with the most gorgeous blue eyes and a smile that will melt your heart. This sweet boy is very well-behaved and has quickly earned the nickname “Velcro dog” because he loves to stick close to his people. He’s pretty good on a leash and enjoys car rides, although he’s still a bit tentative and needs some encouragement to get in. Spirit is also working on his crate training; while he’s hesitant to enter, he does well once inside and doesn’t have accidents. Spirit is fantastic with children and gets along wonderfully with the 7-year-old in his current foster home. He’s still learning how to play with toys and prefers soft treats over hard ones. Meet Sir Brompton! 🐾 Sir Brompton and his Mama Kate are two sweet souls that were found wandering onto the property of a kind-hearted person, most likely abandoned and searching for safety. Brompton, a playful puppy, adores his mama and hates to be away from her, but we know the chances of them finding a home together are slim. As much as he loves her, he’s ready to start a new chapter in a forever home full of love and belly rubs! 💙 This adorable boy is full of playful energy and is the first to flop over for belly rubs as soon as you pet him! Sir Brompton is a bundle of love who will follow you around, gazing up with those big, sweet, yet slightly sad eyes, asking for just a bit more affection.
