Story
Meet Bernie, a nine month old Boxer/Pit Bull mix weighing in around 50 pounds. Bernie was found running around and brought to us as a stray. He is still very puppy and we joke about him going “squirrel” every time he sees something interesting. This friendly goober is really silly and will keep you laughing. He enjoys walking on his leash and needs just a bit of correction so he doesn’t pull. Bernie has met another dog while with us and did extremely well, he would probably do well in a home with another dog but also as an only dog. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.  If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT??That’s where you and the pet make sure you’re a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. Story
Meet Zoey an almost 9-year-old Boxer mix who weighs around 40 pounds. Zoey is a resilient and loving older lady who is ready for her second chance at happiness. This sweet girl was sadly surrendered by her previous owner due to medical concerns, but with the help of our dedicated clinic team and a few weeks of TLC, Zoey has made an amazing recovery. Now spayed and thriving, Zoey is as playful and affectionate as ever. She has a gentle spirit and would make a wonderful companion for someone ready to provide her with the love and care she deserves. Zoey is eager to meet her forever family who will cherish her for the special dog she is. She walks extremely well on leash and is looking for a retirement home who wants a polite older lady. If you`re ready to open your heart and home to Zoey, come meet her today! ??Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?That`s where you and the pet make sure you`re a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption.
